Three Pieman subs required tonight, all in rollover teams, replacing Treloar:

Mofra gets Naughton
Sharkey66 gets Naughton
StringyDog already had Naughton and Arty so he gets Lobb

There were 15 rollover teams.

PIEMAN RESULTS Rd 9 v Carlton

WB 11.13 79 d Carlton 8.11 59

WB Goals:
Scott (3), Lobb (2), Johannisen, Ugle-Hagan, Jones, Naughton, Liberatore, B.Smith

Such a weird game not just for the ordinary fan but also from a Pieman perspective. Being at home I had the chance to record the goals as they were kicked so I could see the "virtual" Kelvin winner and virtual Pieman leader at any stage during the game. For most of it there was very little to do but then it all came in a rush in the last 15 minutes. Anyway we got the win, even if for most of the night we were doing it ugly.

For the record
Q1: 2 goals v 0 goals
Q2: 2 goals v 1 goal
Q3: 2 goals v 4 goals
Q4: 5 goals v 3 goals

Rollovers, Subs and Popular Picks
As noted earlier, there were 15 rollover teams and three subs were required for Treloar this week.
Mofra and Sharkey66 got Naughton (7 pts) and StringyDog got Lobb (24).

Astro was easily the most popular pick this week and while Scott was picked 12 times only four of these were fresh picks. The other eight came from rollovers. It may explain why rollover teams often seem to do well - they aren't so reactive to a player having one good game or one bad game in the previous week. Scott has been coming along quietly and those who stuck with him reaped the benefits tonight.

The KELVIN

With only 11 goals and 8 goalscorers it came as a surprise to see that we had a season-high score tonight. It came courtesy of a Chump, so congratulations to Curly5 who cracked 200 including a bonus score of 57. It only fell into place in the 26th minute of the final quarter when Marra kicked his only goal for the night. Second and third placings went to two rollover teams that had doubled up on Scott - SayerTheCreator (157) and ScragCity (150). In fourth place theAthenian got the other Chump for the night and it too materialised very late with Bailey Smith's goal in the 24th minute of the last quarter. His bonus was a handy 40 points. Six others came close to a Chump with four goalscorers.

Our Pieman leader Charlie Bucket had a roller coaster ride. He was on zero points at half time but by early in the last (when Libba goaled) he was the virtual Kelvin winner until swamped by all those late goals and finishing out of the top 10.

The median score was 52 this week but the average was 71.78, skewed up sharply by the high scores of the top 3 and the fact that nobody got less than 20.

The PIEMAN

Despite finishing out of the top 10 Charlie B still topped 100 points and that was enough to extend his lead for the season. Not so happy was Bulldog rick whose above-median score of 58 was not enough to stop him slipping from 2nd to 4th. The big movers this week were theAthenian (5th up to 2nd) and SayerTheCreator (9th up to 3rd). Plenty of others well in the frame though, including Curly5 who shot up from 23rd to 8th with her Kelvin win.

Pieman Player of the Week

It was only ever going to be Anthony Scott this week.

Highest possible score was 281 (3x Scott, 2x JJ) but a Chump of Scott, JJ, Baz, Lobb and Libba would also have netted a pretty handy 249 points.

Pieman Player of the Year

It's getting closer again at the top of the player leaderboard. Williams still holding out but Scott making a charge.

PIEMAN ROUND 10 v Adelaide

How long can we continue to fly under the radar? Another win on Saturday will make it difficult!
Here are the teams. 2:10pm Saturday at Mars Stadium. The most disappointing IN is Razor Ray, but we'll find a way I'm sure.
