PIEMAN RESULTS RD 22 v Hawthorn

Season on the line and we lost to 16th placed Hawks. Mere pretenders.

Rollovers and Substitutes
There were 21 rollover teams but only two Pieman subs were required. The order of subs was Ugle-Hagan, Bontempelli and Naughton so they went like this:
  • Lordc got Ugle-Hagan (18) for JJ
  • theAthenian got Bont (0) for Scott

The KELVIN
As they slugged out a meaningless war of words in the GDT the real battle between lachy (168) and TiAn_ (142) was being waged in the Pieman. TiAn had it wrapped up until a late riposte from lachy (courtesy of a Bailey Williams goal) snatched the Kelvin, his second for the year. Meanwhile Foxman98 (0) was unsighted. Sharkey66 (114) maintained a watchful silence and finished third, the only other to crack 100.

The average score was 49.63 and the median was 43. Only six available goalscorers, so predictably there was no Chump this week. ossie_21 got close, having picked the four harder ones (West, Williams, English and Treloar) but the easy one (Weightman) let him down. Before today Cody had kicked at least one goal in every game since Rd 10.

The PIEMAN

chez_ferret (56) only got a middling score this week but was able to increase his advantage over Charlie Bucket (42) who slipped to third. Curly5 moved up to second with her (81) and is now only 21 points off the lead. CB is another 32 points back. Fossie 32 is the only other to have passed 1600 points. TiAn_ moved up from 15th to 5th with his 142 points this week.

So with the possibility that we may now miss the finals altogether we could now be down to our last couple of games in the Pieman.

Pieman Player of the Week

Rory Lobb is PPotW with his two goals.

Highest possible score was a Chump of Lobb, Williams, Treloar, English and West which would have been worth 184 including a 52 point bonus.
The highest possible non-Chump score was the one that lachy got - 168 points for 3x Lobb and 2x Williams.

Pieman Player of the Year

Very quiet at the top. Naughton missed out on being among the goalscorers for the first time all year, while Weightman's last goalless game before today was in Rd 9. So Marra earned himself a little breathing room in the lead.
