Sorry for the delay.
Results are coming some time tonight. Bevogate has had me a bit preoccupied ...

PIEMAN RESULTS RD 23 v The Mighty West Coast Eagles

What a disastrous result for our season. It makes it highly probable we only have one game left to sort out the winner of the Pieman for 2023.

WB 12.13 85 lost to WCE 14.8 92
WB Goals: Lobb (3) Treloar, Ugle-Hagan, Weightman, Bontempelli, Baker, West, Scott, Naughton, English

Rollovers and Substitutes:
There were 25 rollover teams. That's a lot. Eight Pieman substitutes were needed, all of them for Libba. All of them got Rory Lobb as their sub which proved pretty handy:
Wocka got 3x Lobb (153 pts!)
Shacf501 got 2x Lobb (102)
Nath09, theAthenian and TedDougChris got 1x Lobb (51) - and in each case they got a Chump out of it!

The KELVIN

We had a season high twelve Chumps so there were some pretty big scores. The Kelvin was shared between lateniter and Sharkey66 who had identical teams (3x Lobb and 2x Bont) for 185 points each. A very close third was Curly5 who had a Chump of Treloar, Baker, Lobb, Marra and English for 180 pts including a bonus of 51 points. Other Chumps were registered by TedDougChris, dogwatch, theAthenian, Jeff 1975, StringyDog, Bulldog rick, chez_ferret, Nath09, TempletonTheRat, Northern Dogs and Fossie 32.

There were 17 scores over 100. The average was 88.85 and the median was 74.5 pts.

The PIEMAN

We have a new leader with (maybe) just one game to go! Curly5's third place gives her a 30 point lead over chez_ferret and 155 points over third placed Fossie 32 . So if our season ends this week it looks like a match in two for the Pieman. It wouldn't have even been this close if not for the very late goal by Cody Weightman that gave chez_ferret (and 7 others) a Chump. That was worth 46 points to Mr Ferret. Without it Curly5 would have had a lead of 76.

Our long time leader Charlie Bucket has flagged at the back end of the season (just like the Dogs) and is nearly 200 points behind the leader in fourth spot.

Memo to Curly and chez_f:
I suggest you PM me your picks this week ... keep your cards close to your chest!

Pieman Player of the Week
No question who the PPotW is. Rory Lobb is starting to hit some goalscoring form at the back end of the season.

Best possible Chump this week was Lobb, Baker, Treloar, Scott and English worth 198 (including a 52 pt bonus).
Best possible score by any method was 3x Lobb and 2x Baker, worth 205.

So our top three in the Kelvin were all right up there close to the max.

Pieman Player of the Year

Jamarra U-H still leads Weightman and Naughton but the Bont edged a bit closer. Any one of those four could win it.

PIEMAN ROUND 24 vs Geelong at Katastrophy Park
This could well be our last Pieman round for the season. Make the most of it!
Curly5 and chez_ferret don't forget you can send your picks in by PM.
