Oh wow, nearly everyone has gone with Minson in their team. Could yesterdays game have had anything to do with that?

21 entries so far and the most popular picks are:
Minson - 13
Gia and Dahl - both 10
Boyd - 7

But a good spread ... 24 different players have been picked.
And no duplicate teams yet ... not even close!

Thanks for the great response folks. Should be fun.

I'll run a trial report on the NAB Cup game against North next Sunday. I probably won't get to post it until some time Monday night as I'm pretty busy for a coupla days. It won't count as part of the proper competition of course, but it will give you (and me) an idea how the results will look each week ... and it will help me test and fine-tune my spreadsheet.

Great response so far. Here's a few stats to keep you amused ...

41 entries so far with no duplicates.

26 different players picked.

Most popular players:
Minson - 28
Dahlhaus - 24
Gia -21
Jones - 15
I'll be interested to see which teams do well at this - those that go with the tried and proven goalkickers or those take a risk with one or two smokies with high handicaps...

As an example, the team handicap totals (the sum of the five players' handicaps) range from 23 (granny) to 58 (Bodicifer). The average is just over 36.

Highest handicap picked - Lake, Hargrave and Howard (all 16)

Subs for Long Term Injuries occurring pre-season
Having seen what happened to Williams on Sunday I think if any chosen player suffers a long term injury before the start of the season proper I will allow a sub to be drafted.

I think this is fair and will ensure everybody is still in with a chance when the season begins (and is not penalised for making an early selection).

For the purposes of this comp I will accept as a LTI one where the club announces before Rd 1 that the player is out for 8 weeks or more, as published by the WB website. I will announce it here if that happens.

The sub will then apply for the whole season, not just while the injured player is recovering. The sub must be picked and posted here before Round 1. Once the WB first match is under way this opportunity ceases (unless we decide on a mid-year draft, in which case everyone will get the opportunity to swap a player).

I'm hoping like crazy this provision won't be needed! Our injury list is already alarmingly long.
