.........Godfathers of the 1990s evolution.

Just been watching a reunion accoustic concert in Newport RI.

People - (including me) rave about Nirvana, Pearl Jam, et al as being the deliverers from the sins of the 80s.

I contest The Pixies paved the way and inspired those that followed.

Kim Deal gave us The Breeders and The Amps....and their influence continues to reverberate through bands such as the Dandy Warhols etc....

All Hail The Pixies !!

I know I should like them, I really do.

Love Cannonball by the Breeders and Monkey Gone To Heaven by the Pixies.

But somehow just cant get into the rest of the stuff the Pixies did. Dont know why, normally I love that type of sound

I've only been into them for a few months, but they are absolutely awesome.

My honours supervisor went to see them when they were here a month ago....so very jealous!! (But what a cool supervisor.)

I hope for your sake you saw them live last month. I managed to see them twice, and yes, they are brilliant. Even after 14 years apart, they are as tight as ever. All hail Charles, Kim, Joey and Dave! :thumbsu:

Saw em recently at the Myer music bowl.

Ticked that off the list of 'things to do' in my lifetime. Unreal:thumbsu:

Didn't rate the beach balls highly though - understandable!
