Righto.

Last year he had 6 games in a row of 20+ posessions and at least one goal playing 1st ruck in the VFL. You must have missed those. His kicking ability doesn't impress you? His ability below his knees? His actual rucking performance against Hawthorn where he beat Spider and kicked goals, again, playing ruck?

I think that a 20yo ruckman who can find space and kick the footy like he does is a very positive attribute. I said as much about Fraser and still do. Massive skill and very valuable. Ability to mark the ball in a pack is coming and has steadily improved this year. Took at least 3 contested or hot marks last week amongst his 7.

If you were a dill, I wouldn't. But you're not, hence my confusion.

My only query is why you would do this if you gained the services of a talented, 20yo sub 30 game ruckman/forward but have not done this already, many, many, many times given the recent 'efforts' at the trade and draft table.

Of course NorthBhoy if you don't like was is being said on the Colingwood board you could always go to the Kangaroos board - now there's a thought

I have no problem with what is being said. Just a discussion. I will leave if asked, but a footy discussion that doesn't involve sacking coaches and burning down the Lexus Centre would be ok at this point.

Many apologies.

And hotpie, that was terrible. Amusing, only due to it's level of terribleness.

NorthBhoy, I obviously missed the games on telly where he "tore it up" for the Port Melbourne Poo Dumpers. My loss I suppose. I only ever saw him get pushed around by VFL short people!

A question, James Brayshaw, an ardent Arden supporter, backed my opinion up immediately before the Collingwood game. Why would he do this, given he's seen your club as much as you?? Surely my opinion isn't entirely random...even when counting some of your supporters!

What I think is, that you're getting a touch of what I call Stunningitis. That is, the disease we Pie supporters got back in 2002, whereby we started viewing Stunning Steve McKee as a viable ruck option. We pointed at his stats and said he was doing OK. Fact is, there wasn't anything else to replace him with, as is the case with you guys. So you think he's a chance at solving your ruck problems. Hey, he's better than McKernan!

Like I've said many times before, I hope he proves me drastically wrong, as I think he looks like a good kid who loves the game. But I personally don't see enough AFL in him. No big deal!

I didn't miss a Port game in Melbourne (even went to Ballarat and Bendigo). He was was excellent all season. Not iffs or butts. He just was.

I heard about this. He is a North fan in name only, literally. Knows very little about the list. FWIW, he actually retracted his comments, saying after the Hawthorn game that he made them judgeing David purely on his rather weird looking running style rather than his footy ability. He is a plonk, and any argument using his "knowledge" is utterly without merit. To say he sees as much North footy as me surely must be a comment to get a rise out of me.

Difference? Hale is 20 years old, and has improved in every facet of his game in every game he has played. He is quicker than McKee, a better kick than McKee, more versatile than McKee.....I really do not need to keep going.

No big deal at all.

PS. You're wrong and stupid and Collingwood are crap and Eddie is fat.

Re Hale:
He's a young ruckman and I haven't seen him really do a lot of damage but I don't go out of my way to watch North. History says there are few gun 20 year old ruckmen and in any case the ruck rules that influence the centre bounce this year won't apply in a few years. It’s is probably too early to judge his future but if he can run, jump, mark and kick at his height and build he will be a handy player. If he falls short in one of those areas he needs a real strength which I can’t see. Reading the play would be a great one to posses. This is how Josh makes up for being weak overhead when he plays forward but it doesn’t help him at the bounces. If Hale was a Simon Madden We would all know it by now. He might be a Gardiner though but it's way off yet.

Re Our players:
All fit we have a solid backline, good forward line, no rucks at all until Richards proves something and three quality midfielders, two of which will go in the next 2 to 3 years at absolute best. Young up and comers are C2 although I am not in the majority there, C3, maybe Maxwell, maybe Rowe. We are all hoping for Rusling and Egan because we are desperate but so far they haven't really shown much. Hall, Morrison and B.Shaw have shown nothing and heath has shown only glimpses. We draft like, well, Collingwood.

We have Buckley and Burns that are untradable because it would destory the fabric of the club at this point. We have Rocca who is the absolute key to our side and under valued outside the club so he is untradable. Clement is probably untradable. Wakelin is past being wanted for value by another club as well as being integral to the side. Everyone else on the list is tradable and/or not good enough to fetch an offer. We have at least half a dozen and up to a dozen players that we couldn't give away for a 4th round draft pick. Form over the last 2 years has a large number of players undervalued IMO. If that is right the coach has to go. If not we are in serious medium term trouble. If Lonie, Cole, Davis, Didak and co are as good as they have played in the last two years and can't improve a whole lot then we have to turn the list over as much as we did post 1999. If that isn't enough to show we have to replace every part of the footy department then nothing ever will be.

Personally I think a lot of our current perception of our list comes from a lack of tactical nouse, game plan flexibility and spirit and all that sheets home to the coach. I have supported what Malthouse achieved up to this year but this was always the test of his list remodelling, his overall footy department input, his trade selecting in and out and his match day coaching and motivational ability. I can't see a single pass. He should be paid out after this weeks game and we should appoint McGuane as an interim coach and keep him on a tight leash. We should also revamp our recruiting and trading team ASAP because it doesn't matter who the coach is, if we can't draft and trade we will have noting to coach.

Replace the footy department and keep the list largely intact minus the obvious duds for now. The worst that can happen is we get one extra year of draft picks as a reward for failure. That's the way it works these days.

This won't happen unfortunately. I hope all Collingwood Social Club Members get to the AGM.

Since posting on the various boards over the years I have heard thousands of rumours that were said at the time to be from an impeccable inside sources.

I can count on one hand the number that actually eventuate

OK, I get told said rumour by said person who is son of said Brownlow Medallist (who won 2 and played at North). Says Fraser wants to leave because CFC is a media circus. I play at the same cricket club as him.

I think nothing of it.

I go ask Fraser at Xmas BBQ if he knows said person, he says he does and he was going out to dinner the following night with him.

Fair enough?

Dual North Brownlow medallist - that narrows it down.

And he can ********ing bowl smoke.

Anyway, the Fraser leaving may be stirring or it may be true, I'm just saying what I have heard from someone that does know Fraser.

Hear what NB??

Don't make me beg for it.

It takes a real man to admit his gross oversights....

The following players must be delisted or offered for some sort of trade - I think that cole and lonie will get the most interest. We need someone to go and get the hard ball. Maybe A tough backman. I still dont know why we got Morrison - why didn't we go after Moloney from Geelong and done a deal with our number 7 pick.
The young shaws must be give a go as well. You cant condem J Cloke just yet. Fanning will be elevated - richards and possibly severel of our other young ones must be told there on there last chance

1. L. Davis
2. S. Woewodin
3. R. Lonie
7. C Morrison
11. S. O'Bree
12. T. Walker
13. R. Cole
19. A. Williams
29. M. Lokan
