I am a former compulsive gambler who hasn't gambled for 9 years. While I am not a fan of pokie machines, these places wouldn't be profitable if people didn't go in and gamble.

So did you stop after much financial damage?

Crown casino faces potential disciplinary action, including the possible suspension of its licence, from Victoria’s gambling watchdog after allegedly removing gambling options on some of its poker machines.

The Melbourne casino has been warned it may be in breach of the Gambling Regulation Act by “blanking buttons” on the machines.

The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation says Crown should have sought approval before conducting a three-week trial involving 17 of its machines, Crown wrote in a statement to the stockmarket on Monday.

You will know the level of corruption if they don't get pinged for this or the punishment is small. The trials for any change configuration on machines should and are governed to take place in a UAT (testing) or pre prod environment with a select group overseen by VCGLR regulators. Never are trials conducted on the floor.

disgusting but not surprising. it wont be too soon if they ever get banned completely (which i hope they do).
