Correct me if I'm wrong, but

They were crap at Test cricket so invented ODI cricket.

They were crap at ODI cricket so invented Twenty20 cricket.

Then they were really crap at 50 over cricket and scrapped it from their domestic structure completely in favour of 40 over cricket.

Now there's an obviously element of kicking a side when they're down here (and a bit of trolling and a bit of bitterness post-Ashes) and obviously it's not as clear cut as this, but there is a bit of a trend here of shifting the goalposts and instead of improving in a format, the solution is just to find a different one.

Just starting to get a bit annoying. Thoughts?

The game was going down the tubes financially in the 60's so the poms 'invented' one-day cricket for first-class teams (really One-day is just your standard weekend cricket as played by amateurs.)

One-dayers became the most important financial piece of the international cricket circus.

One dayers were basically dying a death, so they cane up with 20/20 - which is going to be the most important financial piece of the international cricket circus.

Sounds like they have been the most important innovators in the game. Aussies tried Super-8s (that went well), 6-a-side (yeah, right) and Beach Cricket (now dumped).

Keep the ODI series.
Nobody ever remembers one day games outside of the world cup.
Pyjama cricket is for casual fans.

Our summers work is done..

We'll take the ashes and you can the glorious ODI series.
hahaha

Nah, they're still crap at tests. Australian were the ones who cost themselves the Ashes last month.

Funny ,I could have sworn that Australia had a crushing 200 run loss inside 4 days last we played them.

Another delusional ocker who cant take reality.

England are pretty crap are Tests to be fair. When was the last time they beat anyone half good away from home? And don't say NZ.

Both teams were horrible during the series, Australia more so, and England just came out on top in the end at home.

When England can actually somehow beat Australia in Australia I'll then admit they're better. I won't hold my breath on that happening anytime soon though.

Australia are on a run of defeats on English soil now. They dont win on our turf anymore my simple bogan friend. So dont start yapping about "away form" .
In future all we will have to do his turn up in order to win. We won this series by barely breaking any sweat (with our best players crocked). Even the west indies gave us a harder workout.

'stralia are yesterdays team.
Hence them losing 3 out of their last 4 series.

Even at the level I've played at, which in the main has been mediocre, though I have watched the field with pros and internationals, I might add, the Englishman is, on the whole ***** at limited overs cricket.

Whenever a team of Sri Lankans, Indians or Pakistanis would roll up on a Saturday or Sunday, they would want to play limited overs, we would want to play time cricket. More often than not we would accede to their wishes, with the predictable outcome. We had one famous tie, that I was involved in at the end, with a team called YARL (an Indian instrument) and they loved us for evermore ...I digress.

It's not just sub-continentals that would kick our ass ...we would have Saffers, Kiwis and Aussies come and play for or against us. All would be brilliant at the limited form of the game and be completely bamboozled as to why we would or could think of playing for five hours and it might end in a draw, winning or losing, at that.

The point is, England are either not designed to play the game or England have not embraced it ...and probably never will. This goes for all levels, from park to national. FWIW, I actually think it's the latter....England love time cricket and all it's quirks and intricacies.

One final thought ..and it's endemic of all the above. As a cricket loving, being behind 6-0 to Australia in a odi series bothers the English very little, as leading 6-0 wouldn't particularly excite them.

This really is some pathetic trolling right here. There isn't really any point responding since it only gives you more reason to troll. Good day.
