I've got a pair of Nike ~2004 away socks, modeled by the most famous Port Adelaide leg of the AFL era here:

(my sock of choice for winter nightshift, btw)

and i've been looking to add to my Port Adelaide onfield sock collection for a decade, but $35 for socks is almost as outrageous as $85 for playing shorts, and I can't justify either.

Man I miss being a teenager and living at home with zero financial responsibility

That leg is the reason why I started supporting this great club.

$35 for socks? Ye gods!

I bought some Holeproof Explorers online for old times sake a couple of months ago and thought $15 for a pair was a bit steep. My work socks (and two pairs will keep my feet safe from frostbite in -15c ) go for $25 for 3 pairs.

Yeah. I never have to worry about -15 degrees but I do like good quality socks for work, and footy socks work very well on cold nights.

I reckon I bought my 2004 clash socks for about $20, but that was more than 10 years ago. When I can get a guernsey for under $100, ~$80 for shorts and ~$35 for socks is a kick in the groin. Maybe it's because they don't produce as many.

Until then i'll keep scouring ebay and try to get in on some end of season sales I guess.
