The jacket overall is nice. The Magpies logo on the sleeve is not nice. If the Magpies logo wasn't there, I wouldn't think twice about purchasing one.

Everyone has their opinion, but you will have to at least admit that you are in a massive minority for this one. A business can't keep everyone happy, but will continue to do what sells. This item sells, in a big way.

Not to sound like BMT, but I dare say that the jacket would sell even better if the magpies logo wasn't on the sleeve. That's clearly just my opinion, nothing else. Also LOL'd at the bolded. :p

I'm just glad that a piece of merch is the biggest issue we have at the moment :)
I'm not actually particularly fussed. I was just stating my opinion.

Oxymoron isn't it, you know what I was trying to say though ;)

I disagree that they would sell better with or without the logo. I really don't think it would make any kind of difference.

No, they don't. They pretty much have free reign to do what they like now.

FWIW, I'm taking mine to a seamstress along with my 2012 hoodie and having the Power logo transplanted to the left sleeve of this beast. The ultimate OneClub item of merch. If there was a way to safely just remove the Magpie logo and leave it bare I would.
Could there be a Power one in the pipeline?

The magpies logo is great. It's a heritage jacket. Even if the Magpies were using a power logo this season as the reserves, we should be using the magpies logo on a heap of merchandise because it a) it's an awesome logo and b) it shows where we've come from.

We spent the first part of our existence pushing the "Port Power FC EST 1996" garbage and we were actively stopped from marketing our heritage. We are now able to rectify that

If this disgraceful piece of garbage:

had had the magpies logo replacing the abomination that appears on it, it would be one of the better tshirts we've released in our AFL history.

We're in a unique situation in the history of our club now where we have OneClub and the magpies reserves so that we can actively put Maggies imagery all over merchandise which is of great quality and designed really to be worn by PAFC fans going to AFL matches. That logo was clearly used because it's designed to look old school.

Also, if we ever stop calling our reserves team the magpies, we may be stopped from actively marketing this sort of thing, so we should be going bananas while we have the chance IMO.

You make a very good, well made point that's difficult to argue against. Like I said, I love it, but I'd love it even more if the sleeves were bare.

I was trying to find good images of sportsmen wearing varsity jackets to prove that they aren't simply a current trend for teenage douchebags, and I found this:

^ Someone tell me where I get this one!!!!11~1!!

Further proof that the varsity/letterman jacket is actually a classic Port Adelaide heritage item :)

That's a pretty terrible jacket. Leather sleeves? I suggest you trawl through a few Vinnies shops.

I'm surprised people are actually saying that they don't like the logo on the sleeve. Honestly, be lucky that we are getting anything with the Magpies logo on it. Does anyone recall our "range" of merchandise prior to ISC coming aboard?

To me it looks like after the OneClub initiative came into effect they really tried hard to start pumping out more Magpies merchandise but because they were being made by some third party company and not Reebok (ughhh), there was still very little they could sell as it looked cheap and tacky.

Now that ISC kits out both teams, there has been some awesome stuff come out that that actually looks pretty damn sweet. Especially the Jackets and hoodies.

It never featured. It was part of an awful series of generic AFL "heritage" merch items for all clubs based in the old VFL logos.

I own one of these and just wear around the house, but its a tacky look of 'Port Power' joined the VFL in the 70s with its rustic look, I mean if it was a lightning bolt sure, but its just a amalgamation of P A F and C thrown together.
