Does anyone know of an easily applied fabric protector to keep my last PA 59/fifty from fading?

No, but I'm running a test this weekend on re-dyeing an old cap with white embroid on it to see if I can resurrect it.
The dye doesn't sink in to polyester thread so I'm hoping it will be good enough to give it another year or two lifetime.

I've contemplated doing this, don't even mind if it turns the embroidery grey.

Looks like we have a winner!

Will post photos later showing the results with a set of instructions but it's blacker than it was when I bought it and the emroid is still white and marginally brighter due to the wash.

Hi All,

I come in peace! Just a query cause you guys have been with ISC for a while now, are you aware if the ISC website does a massive end of season sale? Our previous suppliers/muppetts BLK had done this previously and the questions come up on our board figured you guys might know.

Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure they do, yeah.

I don't think it's ever come up but I could be wrong.

We generally buy our merch direct from the official PAFC website/store so the club gets maximum benefit. The club usually does big sales for old stock as any merch vendor would.

Most of us normally go through the crows shop but it become common knowledge that the BLK site would do ridiculously cheap end of year sales so was curious as to what ISC do. Thanks for the info.

Idk isc used to have all the club stuff on their website but not for a good year and a bit now tbh. Last great sale was end of 2014 I reckon from them

Fangear do end of season/old stock cheapies also...

Ok, so here's the process I used and some quick and dirty snaps of the cap to show how it worked.

Original PA cap from the first batch sold.
Peak was fading to brown in patches and the underside of the peak had a stain.

Comparison to the new PA Cap, bought in 2014, which looks dark grey in the photo but is acceptable black.

This is the dye I used, DYLON Velvet Black Fabric Dye.
Follow the instructions on the pack

IMG_4970.jpg

1. Run on a delicate cycle (40°C / 400 spin).
2. Throw in a couple of other items to dye (I threw in a black hoodie and a shirt).
3. Wash again on delicate cycle to remove excess dye.
4. Dry with a ball or something round in the cap to hold it's shape.

One mistake I made was running the cap through a prewash without the dye first and then a third wash after so the peak has softened quite a bit and the front of the cap has lost its shape. I'm hoping that once it dries completely these things will be rectified. I also suspect it has shrunk slightly but I can stretch that out with my massive bonce.

Here is the finished product, showing the inside of cap.

There's usually what seems to be an ISC employee who chucks a heap of player issue (sublimated number, player cut, GPS pocket) stuff of all ISC clubs up on ebay at the end of each year with a few anomalies thrown in. IE, a year or two ago there were a few of our clash jumpers sans the black side panel. So keep an eye out on there. Quite a few little gems and reasonably priced.

Good one don't have a eBay user name at all?

Thanks for all the replies.

Keep an eye on eBay as well.

A few years ago there was a guy selling a bunch of player issue guernseys on sale that weren't official design (our clash guerns sans the black side stripes, for instance), but were ISC prototypes/concept mock-ups replete with sublimated numbers.

I've pretty much come to accept the demise of the PA 59Fifty. Had a talk to the girl in the shop on Saturday and I can understand their reasoning. They simply have too many sizes that sit on the shelf and don't move. Asked if they could just order the main selling "normal" head sizes and she said New Era won't allow it. Orders have to be in bulk and loads of sizes. It's just not worth it to them.
Anyway, I purchased a PA snapback and it is truly wonderful.

I kinda regret not getting one of those all white PIs that was thrown up, purely for the novelty factor.

The Mason Shaw I bought was tip-top, but was so slimfit it made me look like a pot-bellied Bangkok sex tourist so I sold it on to a m8 who has the rig of an adonis.

Now it's technically a Les Dixon I kinda wish I sacrificed my organs and anorexic'd my way into wearing it.

I'm a greyhound but the Wingard PI I have is a second flesh. It's great under, say, an unbuttoned shirt, but that's the best mileage i get out of it. I will never let go of a Wingard B&F breakout year PI, though. Such a sexy piece of material.
