I'm going to have to do the Bomber rejuvenation technique and repair 2 of my fitted caps.

I'm not that impressed with the results if I'm honest. Looks a bit like black paint and seems to alter the integrity of the hat surface. I appreciate the effort Bomber went to, but it's not for me.

I've got a faded, patchy, black on black that's wasting away.... May as well try.

Any rejuvenation that involves a washing machine will see shrinking and crumpling. Had there not been the SnapBack to replace it (it's essentially the same, same shape, colour, just has a different back) I'd consider the dye job.

It's actually "centred" because the smaller, lower part of the lightning bolt sticks out further than the right side, so the box isn't centred.

Yep. It's mechanically centred, not visually centred.

Yep, like Costanza in the Hamptons, there's definitely been some shrinkage.

Now that it's completely dry the things that I've noticed are:
— The dye worked extremely well. Very black and no discolouring on the embroid.
— the shape smoothed out on the front of the cap once dried and looks good.
— the peak dried firm and appears to have lost no integrity (i'm a curler though so this may impact on those wanting a flat peak)
— the band has shrunk ever so slightly which makes it a tight fit on the head

Considering it went through the machine three times, it's been a successful experiment on a cap that I wasn't wearing due to the brown fade. Downside is I still can't wear it, but my eldest now has a PA cap.

If I had another cap to experiment on, I'd run it through only once to see if it improves some of the shrinkage.

I have numerous old ones you can have.

Embrace the PA SnapBack, people. Comes in a thicker material that looks far less prone to fading than the 59Fifty. It's godly.
Snapbacks don't fit my head, they are far too shallow and hence sit on my head like a kippah.

They also look far worse and a custom fitted hat is far more desirable than a pointlessly adjustable one.

For me it was 1992, they were twins and I had just turned 15.

if my only choices are snapbacks or not wearing a PAFC hat - then im afraid ill just rock my Az Cardinals, or Phoenix Suns black on black 59fifty's to games in the future

death to the snapback!

maybe I can get old mate to hold some of the last 59fifty's behind the counter for me #salty
