Barring any unexpected additions or lingering players, we should have only the following players unavailable:

- Docherty
- Pickett
- TDK

With a question mark on Fasolo and assuming McGovern and Walsh are fine for next week.

Trending in the right direction, certainly.

Edit: also assuming LeBois and Cottrell don't exist, which is probably true according to the club's perspective.
i dont think LeBois realises that if he gets his s**t together this year and plays some good vfl footy there's a spot for him in the seniors and literally no one is going to take it from him.

Backs looking good and getting a chance to build consistency together under the two stars Liam & Weits.

Mids: Crippa & Walshy are stars. SPS coming on. Dow has broken away from the middle several times and will improve. Setters & fish going ok. Kreuz, Cunners & BamBam to come in.

Big forwards all look dangerous and very capable. Will click soon.

Positive thoughts.

After today we are now one huge step forward to future Carlton success.
Correct. Today hurt badly because we expected to win, even though we have seemingly forgotten how. The players won’t forget it as it clearly hurt them, more than the close ones we fell short in but were only hoping to win.

After a loss like that, especially when it could have been prevented, will sting enough to help the players avoid a repeat. Winning will breed more winning until it becomes habit. Today was the loss we had to have, to add the steel required to be ruthless in the pursuit of winning.

Bravo. Well said.

This is exactly what happened to the Suns - they lost a close one in round one which would have hurt like crazy and they’ve rebounded with three close wins and knowing not to give up until the last second.

The Suns are clearly a bottom 6 team regardless of their 3-1 record, but it’s apparent our defenders and forwards (we do need a small forward or course) are good enough now to push up the ladder - it’s actually the midfield where we are the weakest. Either we buy talent like Coniglio or we wait a few years for our young kids to come on. We have currency available for a reason - hopefully we bring in the mids we need to control games more.

So the positive out of this game were I can see we have a stent skeleton in place particularly in the forward and back 50s.

In a moment where Cripps would be pissed off with another ******* close loss, the guy was all class on tv coverage straight after the loss. Really growing into his leadership role brilliantly.

Walsh just continues to amaze for a teenage midfielder.

Love SPS in traffic.

Weitering pissed off after the loss and clearly addressing other players we have got to get better is what I like to see.

FFS, how good is it to see away game wearing our NORMAL great jumper ?

We're in every game. We have had periods of genuinely outplaying each of our opponents. There's clearly talent, upside, future development, etc all over the list. Some of the A-grade talent is really starting to look it - Weiters, Walsh, McKay.

There's no way the calamity of errors, poor decisions and missed opportunities can continue at the rate they are happening. If you scripted the f&^%-ups we made yesterday it would be dismissed as unrealistic - it beggars belief. No, that's too silly, no professional sports team would make that many mistakes/wrong decisions in a row.

Not to be too crude, but we're like a teenage school boy virgin. We're so desperate to lose the V-plates we are a fumbly, over-anxious mess who can't close the deal and perform because we haven't before and we want it so much. Many of us were there once upon a time. :$

I think when the first win comes, the second and third won't be far behind it. We can get to second and third base consistently now - just gotta get that home run. :p

In the not too distant future opposition teams are going to start to run out of options to negate the impact of our KPP's, both forwards and backs.
They will also need to start drafting and training up taggers.... how else to deal with Crippa, SPS, Walshy, Fish, Kennedy when they are all dominating.
Through in Setters, LOB for good measure

The sheer amount of new posters on here indicates that support of Carlton is no where near as dead or irrelevant as the media, match attendances, or opposition supporters would have it.

There's shitloads of us!

and the record membership numbers

Apparently we are at least as good as most ‘journalists’ who love to copy our ideas and turn them into stories, because it is better than what they can create themselves.

We are famous ..... anonymously of course

The quality of a team's bottom 6 players can really make a significant difference - if your bottom 6 are weaker then you commit more turnovers and you apply less pressure on opponents and don't hit your forward targets as much. With a poor bottom 6 you could lose 80-60 but with a strong bottom 6 you win 80-60. It can make that much difference.

If we look at our bottom 6 from Sunday's game including the emergencies (i.e. players ranked 20-25) then we have: Casboult Gibbons Lobbe Silvagni Kennedy Polson

If you replaced 5 of them with: Kreuzer Docherty Williamson Cuningham Lang
then we already have a much better team in the next few weeks. And in the next two years we will add another 4 Best 22 players (while losing Simpson and Thomas) through free agents and the draft.

So in 2021 aour bottom 6 may be the likes of:
Murphy Newman ECurnow Plowman O'Brien Lang
which is a far stronger bottom 6 than what we have now.

I liked when Weitbot adrssed our players after the game when Crippa was being interviewed..showed great leadership I reckon..

Exactly. My favourite moment of whole day was straight after loss seeing response of Crippa on the live coverage and seeing Weitering out of his robot mode and getting animated in leadership type mode at same time. Was really good to see how those two both react in a tough time.
