Reserves this week could easily have:

Williamson Kennedy Cuningham Schumacher Goddard Fasolo Kerr Phillips Lobbe Garlett Lang Stocker Macreadie maybe even Charlie (soon TDK & LeBois)

Picking our 22 each week is getting tougher and tougher. Sign of a good side or one heading in the right direction

That would make me happy. Been even happier when Lebois is around too.

Strange thing is if he can put some games together soon .... he still has a potential home in our forward line.

Still got big hope for him too. Just has to get himself on park and play out virtually the rest of season.
If he plays 3 or 4 games in a row, well at VFL level, throw him in up forward between the talls if Polson or Fasolo not grabbed their chance by mid year or we not found another specialist forward in mid season rookie draft. LeBois and Fasolo are only two players on the list specifically recruited as small forwards. So great opportunity for LeBois as season goes on to show what he can do. The spot is virtually waiting for him. So happy they now playing Gibbons where he is meant to be, He showed beyond doubt he belongs on our list as a midfielder.

SPS showing the benefits of a good preseason, greater fitness. in everything yesterday. real poise.
Backed up, huge second efforts. Gutsy player who will only get better. Love Sam Walsh, but SPS, what a footballer.
What can I say, rinse and repeat, Samo Petrevski Seton, take a bow. What an absolute ripper. And will only get better

Club has finally fixed a lot of the problems that have plagued us through the dark days, or is making significant progress towards a solution.

In no particular order:
Coach
Engagement with the fans
Fitness staff
Recruiting staff
List Manager
Football Manager
Marketing
CEO and board
Player development
Competitive VFL side
On-field leadership
On-field performance
Innovation/early adopters (AFLW, Live trading etc)

There is plenty to like about the club and where it is headed.

IMO the biggest indicator of the success of our rebuild at the moment is our depth.

This week 4 of Garlett Jack Casboult Simpson Polson Cuningham Charlie Kennedy will be available for reserves.

Plus the 2's will have Williamson Schumacher Macreadie Stocker Lang Phillips Fasolo Kerr Phillips Goddard with Setterfield back next week and TDK & LeBois back soon

and still missing Docherty who is close to our most important player. Along with Pickett that is 16 plus players who could play Seniors.

Great to see!

PS Very early days but I like what I have seen from Finbar, BSOS & Cottrell so far.

Personal, but absolutely brilliant positive.
Wife just came in and told me to mute TV - Saints V Crows.
Daughter 2 years 11 months in bath belting out "we are the old dark navy blues" with great gusto. Not even in a footy state, big grin.

Cute, I do that too. Love my bath

More competitive this year for sure.

First half against the hawks was awesome to watch.

Cunners’ goal from the pocket! Threaded the needle. Has great skills and can play in the guts. Could be a star.

Harry: “Boy oh boy”! We’ve got one there. Love the speed, competitiveness and sticky mitts.

Gov is chasing and harassing and seems a reliable clutch kick. Winning me over.

Young mids are coming on well: SPS, Fish, Dow. Almost forgot Walsh!!

Selection pressure is mounting. Some previously untouchable blokes in the ones will have to lift to stay in the side.

Higher standards are being driven by some over achievers eg Crippa and Walsh.

Whilst we don't quite know how to finish games or play 4 quarters yet (I am putting this down to relative inexperience in such situations), the statistics demonstrate that we are actually a mid-table team in terms of performance.

12th in points for, 9th in points against, 12th in overall percentage.

Now, taking into account the fact that we have played 5th, 8th, 11th, 13th, 14th and 16th, there is a minor skew there impacting these results.

A positive, nonetheless. The wins will come, but again, that is my/our attitude, the players and coaching staff need to continue being insanely attentive to detail and structures.

Great first quarter. Dow's goal in the 2nd was beautiful.
Good comeback in the last few minutes. Pleased at the way they ran it out with no bench.
Lots to like

Yeah that was huge for Dow.

If he can get that right he could start doing that once or twice a week from the centre square.

The first half, our game style ball movement very impressive beautiful to watch
Fighting the game out, down on rotations and nearly pinching it back boys kept coming
The way our game style is evolving, we're going to be an exciting club to watch when it all clicks
Jones Kruezer Thomas Curnow leading the way
Cripps leadership & McGovern starting to click Gibbons getting better
The kids Fisher Petrevski-Seton Walsh Weitering all class McKay Dow Cuningham O'Brien(last qtr)
Dow's running goal Kruezer's running goal Cuningham's goal from the boundary line...

I loved the way he was able to fend off the tackle and find himself space more than the finish - will be a very special player.

Just watched the goal again - you’re totally right. Watching the second time around I noticed that big H and Jack didn’t seem to want the handball so DC had to stand and deliver. Shows their confidence in his skills (or maybe they were just too stuffed after the sprint).

What I love about this season is none of our opponents have kicked 100 points.
