Toast The Positive thread: now with 2020 vision

We will make a late run for finals with our best player's due to come back soon.

A few years late, maybe? :D

Lots of positives so far and from the weekend.

McKay = weapon
Walsh = (unbelievably) as good as advertised
Ed = made a fool of many of us, had a blinder
Weiters = just so solid
Jones = seems to have dramatically simplified his game, for the better

Made oodles of mistakes, could still have stolen the game. In it for longer.

Excuse me your extinctness, it's not a post splitter if there are no posts in between

All right, here goes:

- we’re not really coughing up goals in Red time. Fitness must be getting better.
- we were all over the Swans in the last quarter. They were out on their feet. Better kicking for goal, and you never know. Fitness must be getting better.
- if fitness is better now after only one offseason with Russell, how much better will it be after two and three off seasons?
- the blokes in their third and fourth years who have had full preseasons are all far better players - McKay, Weitering, SPS
- Marchbank slotted beautifully into the side after a long break. Once again, full tribute to the fitness staff. Is it a hint that other players will be able to do the same?
- Dow can still find the ball, and he can still accelerate. His third quarter against Port was a key component of our turnaround. The kid can play. Needs the full offseason in 2020, because he missed a chunk of this one
- how many quarters did we actually win last year? This year we are winning two quarters in a game. We’d all like the exponential gain, but the incremental one is more realistic
- at this time last year, we’d been blown away in the second half by Richmond, been pantsed at home by Gold Coast, and been listless against Collingwood. This year, we’ve put in a half against each of the teams we’ve played.
- more modern coaching philosophies tell you to focus on process and not outcomes. The media and fans concentrate on outcomes and not processes. Losing is hard. But all of the above suggest to me that the processes are coming together. When they do, then the wins will follow.

Bolts presser Team fighting it out again Andrew Russell's influence Injury list shrinking Return of best 22 players
Good news on McGovern Northern Blues kick off Kids coming along just fine Patrick Cripps Harry McKay Sam Walsh Liam Jones Ed Curnow Sam P-Seton Paddy Dow Caleb Marchbank Nic Newman Zac Fisher Dale Thomas
Will Settlefield Kade Simpson No game at Marvel this week Boys come back with a win on the road

We no longer rely on the experienced players to get the team motivated/across the line, it is the kids driving the standards.

Going to make it easier to transition guys like Murphy, Simpson, Kreuzer, Daisy etc out of the team when their time is up.
