Opinion The Positive thread

I think QS will agree with me when I say I like how the Eagles from the West Coast played the footballs in the first half (apart from the goal kicking). I'm looking forward to Jarrod Wellington coming in and putting some balls in goals for six points.
We just didn't football good enough, our playing was bad. The goals need to invite the football into their cavernous zone. It's an auspicious occasion when the football is won for the Coast Eagles of the West.

I'm sending out a big :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: to the brave souls who went to the game last night decked out in our colours. Caught more than a few glimpses of the blue and gold in the stands. Big hugs.

Shuey and Selwood have pulled their fingers out which is a big positive for mine, Selwood is back to his 2011 best with 30 tackles in the past 3 weeks.

The best thing is that Scooter is combining big tackle numbers with big possession numbers now. Obviously the efficiency needs to improve, but you can't really ask for more in terms of attack on the footy and defensive accountability.

Priddis' injury. Hear me out.
It showed how much value he has despite his snaildom, we looked terrible at stoppages; however this could become irrelevant if Wellers takes that spot.
It really depends on which half you look at though.

It does you're right I was thinking about that, but I still think even in the first half the loose men at the back glossed over our crapness at clearing the ball. Once that party was shut down, the extraction problem seemed pretty apparent.

Pretty much, we were all over the Port mids in the first half and vice versa in the second half. I reckon if we add Sheppard and Wellingham to the rotation we could be a bit more damaging without Priddis. But thats if Sharrod has the impact i hope he will.

strong finish to the season,??

Have draft picks been mentioned?

Brown was ok. Being in with EMac alows Glass to be more attacking. But we lack the small fast defender. Interesting to see EMac is as fast as any we have when chasing. We need to revise our strategy for the small fast forwards. Lets say play on them?

Hope, he should replace Dalzeil and make a bigger contribution, or Hams, etc

Apologies if this posts twice but it didn't post earlier...

two positives, we are the top tackling team in the league and scooter the top tackler.

bang.

They play different roles. Plus Razzle deserves another go after his full game effort yesterday. Both Brown and Razzle have proven (to me at least) that when given a full game they can produce the goods. Hams on the other hand is a liability up front.

Would love for Smith to come in to play on the quicker blokes.

It's not the 1-4 which is so concerning. I could live with the losses and our position on the ladder if we were actually playing decent football, ala carlton or north.

But our football this year has been nothing short of disgraceful unfortunately.

Positive is that I won my supercoach at least. I'm a total mess if I lose AND the eagles lost.

Mitch Brown, he should keep his spot and we can use Schofield elsewhere. This back six looks solid but the rebound might be an issue -

Butler Mackenzie Glass
Hurn Brown Waters

I was encouraged by Dalziell. Played a very good game last night and absolutely deserves another game.
This. As another poster said, we have a track record of bringing guys in on reputation rather than form. At least Dalziell actually looked like AFL standard last night (it may be a one off, who knows). SpaceClef you can pay me later.
