Patrick Cripps is a star for you guys. i have seen a fair few Carlton games this year however i know use are blooding youngsters but they aren't showing enough. Also can some of you guys shed some light on what you think of Bolton as a coach? I was watching the game yesterday there were many passages coming out of defence where the players just didn't pull the trigger they had many options down the middle however just consistently stuck to the boundary often to 2 on 1's or kicking it out on the full?
Last year our zone defence was tight.
Bolton instructed positioning first two years.
This year the players left due to injuries and young draftees get lost in the twighlight zone this will get tightened over the off season by Bolton our coach
So you don’t have worry you’re pretty little head about it

Not a coincidence that Cripps' kicking and forward play has improved with a fit Kennedy in the side to play sidekick. Bam Bam is doing a great job and progressing nicely himself, and that's without a pre-season!
I was thinking the same thing. Since he is not playing injured he has been awesome.

Reckon player development has been good this later part of the season. Can't say our players aren't coming on, they are just mostly acting their age or they're injured. Sometimes it's not about results with improvement, sometimes statistically a player can go backwards but still improve by building other areas.

Silvagni - put in a few new positions (back and midfield) and demonstrated gradual improvement there. Still think he will get back to being good forward when we as a team don't need to push the whole 18 back to defend and can do it with numbers forward and the forwards can put more energy into attacking and leading.

Dow - Nothing special early days and a lazy chaser but the pressure is improving and the possession numbers are gradually inclining.

Jones - When we were competitive last year he had a good time intercepting and playing in front. Was flogged a lot early this season but has since learned to play one on one and use old fashion defensive skills. He's not a natural footballer and doesn't have a footy brain, he needs to be programmed and he has been reprogrammed successfully.

O'Brien - Started in the 2s, was given a go and has shown gradual improvement to the level where he may be our best first year player.

SPS - Showed signs of laziness and being a bit soft but that's gone. He's improved his pressure efforts and head over the ball.

Kennedy - First few games were putrid but possession numbers have gone up and his hands are cleaner.

Cripps - Gone from good player to might win the brownlow.

McKay - Think he's been made to earn it and it's been a good thing. Hasn't come on in leaps and bounds but 15 possessions two weeks in a row are better than he's done.

Lamb - Hasn't become a great player but has become useful down back, still not best 22 but gives us another number.

Weitering - A lot may think he's gone backwards but he's in another role which he hasn't done well at first up. He played his best footy when we had a competitive midfield and strong defence and could zone off. Now he's hard to learn basic one on one lock down defence and the last month or so he's improved at defending quite a lot. In a good side he will likely go back to being more lose but he now has a better ability at manning up and playing as an old fashion defender. Fair to say early in the season he was playing soft/non contact footy and since a stint in the VFL has come back and been far more physical.

Fisher - The whole league knows who he is this year. He's become a star. A more skilful version of a young kade simpson.

Polson - Struggling to get a kick in the VFL, struggling to get a kick in the AFL but just recently has shown signs of breaking through. 15 possessions last week after a lean start is a massive improvement.

Thomas - Easily his best season for us.

Curnow - Was good last year and great this year.
