Credit to Hipwood for working hard on his set shot goal kicking. He has a very deliberate run up and has turned into a reliable set shot goal kicker in front of the big sticks. One criticism of his coming out of juniors is that he goal kicking was shaky.

Hipwood is going to be one of those players that will compete and crash packs all day but generally having a quite one but deep into the fourth quarter he will kick 4 quick goals and win us the game off his boot. You just can't keep someone who continually presents and hits packs quite for the whole game. I see him developing body wise into a Ryder. Not huge but strong enough to hold his own but it will enable him to utilise his greatest strengths which is his speed and agility for such a tall bloke.

He will be a game breaker that's for sure. He will be very difficult to match up on at his height and athletic ability. How can a big bodied, tall defender with less athleticism stop him when he is in full flight, scooping the ball up off the ground and kicking for goal? His athleticism will make him a unique proposition for defenders to try and stop.

Rich's goal from three meters inside the Centre square that easily cleared the goal line right between the posts.

If we could get one or two of those from him every game...
And that's why the best taggers run with him most weeks.

Just need two more a graders in the mid field to distract the opposition and he will be able to deliver consistently.

Rich didn't have anyone 10m from him all game. Clearly Essendon forgot the memo or maybe something more sinister in their plans.
Or they were happy to concede Rich free in exchange for freeing Goddard up at the other end.

They should have picked him up after half time though, he was dominant.

Sam Mayes is really starting to develop towards the player we need him to be. He isn't there yet but his last month or so has been the best form of his career nearly.

Bit by bit there is more poise and more thought with his defensive work. I really hope he can take an even bigger step next year.

Hanley finding some form in the 2nd half after a disaster of a first half.

Keays hardball get which lead directly to a goal.

Keays, Cutler, Hipwood, Schache, Matho, William, Hammelmann all good today.

Walker finding it a little bit.
