Filling in time so thought I'd give a 21 and under side a go. We have 23 players 21 and under.

Back.
Mitchell Hinge, Sam Skinner, Daniel McStay.
Alex Witherden, Harris Andrews, Darcy Gardner.

Mids.
Archie Smith, Jarrod Berry, Rhys Matheison.
Ben Keays, Hugh McCluggage, Nick Robertson.

Fwd.
Cedric Cox, Joshua Schache, Reuben William.
Jake Barrett, Eric Hipwood, Matthew Hammellman.

Int.
Jacob Allison, Liam Dawson, Josh Clayton, Corey Lyons. Emerg. Cian Hanley

A lot of "potential" there, positive signs for the future, I'm looking through rose colored glasses and can see a half full glass but I can envision upside in all those guys.
A good half of the players on that list are getting regular or semi-regular senior games. 18 have already played seniors or been selected to play seniors (ie Skinner).

Boy, we are young.

Games against the Hawks, Doggies and Essendon are games I would expect us to win next year. Get some more games into the kids and bring in some more experienced 'talented' players and I think our future is looking good. Not against putting pick 1 on the table if we can bring in Hopper and Kennedy.

We fought out the game against Sydney. St Kilda is lying down.

Nb it took a lot of scrolling to find this thread. It's been a rough week.

Better conversion rate, especially in the first half and this ends up a lot closer.

Got flogged by 140 last time and we brought that back to 80 and didn't completely throw in the towel.

I thought we gutsed it out pretty well in the last quarter when a 100+ loss looked on the cards.

Next time we play Richmond no matter the score at 3/4 time we will still be a chance of winning.

As frustrating as the season has been so far, we have improved as a team and there has been improvement from individuals and even if we lose Schache, we have Ballenden coming through.

Hipwood is on track to kick 30+ goals in his second season which is elite. Just for comparison Franklin kicked 31 in his second season. However he then went onto kick 73 and 113 goals in only his 3rd and 4th season, which is pretty incredible. He was playing in a premiership team I guess but very good signs for Hipwood.

Just to add to that these players are the winners of the Coleman medal in the last 10 years so I thought I'd look at the start of their careers.

Goals in their first 5 seasons
Brown: 5, 38, 14, 27, 39
Fevola: 0, 26, 27, 13, 63
J.Reiwoldt: 7, 18, 32, 78, 62
J. Kennedy: 5, 6, 7, 31, 41
Roughead: 6, 12, 40, 75, 51
Franklin: 21, 31, 73, 113, 67

Hipwood: 11, 14*

Franklin and Roughead were the only ones to have kicked 40+ in their 3rd season. Fevola hadn't done much until his 5th season and Reiwoldt 4th. Looking at his first 5 seasons even Kennedy didn't start kicking bags until his 6th, 7th season. Just roughly analysing those numbers accompanied by the fact Hipwood is playing in a fairly rubbish team I think he will be a very very good player.

Hogan and Cameron would be the only other comparable players for their early years

Jesse Hogan- 44, 41, 9*. Hogan was injured early so in his first year he was 20 years of age and had been in the system for a few years.

Jeremy Cameron- 29, 62, 29, 63, 53, 33*. These are fantastic numbers, also his 2 29 goal seasons in his first 3 years were done playing only 14 and 16 games. Very much the exception to the rule though.

Cameron is the best recent comparison to Hipwood, IMO, as most of his goals in the first few years came through speed and agility, similar to Eric. Eric is actually a better mail than Jeremy was at the same age, though the height difference would play a part in that.

Cooper Cronk is leaving the Storm can we get him to switch codes. Anyone who watches Storm games knows he is a beautiful kick
Have to work out better than Hunt and Folau.
