The only one that i see this as any likelyhood would be Tom Bell.
If he decides that he has been overtaken and will be too hard to come back after his recent injury. I would be inclined to pay him out this year to create another list spot if needed. But i think in that scenario it would need to be Tom who makes that decision.

Beat me too it.

I thought some of the comments from the club earlier in the year were aimed at Bell. As I have said before I won't be surprised if he retires. C Beams, Jansen, Harwood, Bewick, Freeman, Paps, Clayton and a number of rookies (William). That is a fairly significant turnover, without even looking at Rocky.

Agree totally with Stef Martin. His work rate is fantastic & never gives anything less than 100% effort. His game against Richmond was really really good and think his game assessment suffered because our midfielders lacked impact. Unfairly criticised often. On the other hand, I really don't think Rich's effort has been anywhere near acceptable. His body language is also replicating his performance as he shows no emotion or disappointment when his clangers hurt us often each game. Think Rich is still a good player and show's glimpses of his past but not nearly consistent enough for his experience or expectations.
Agree, apart from which ,his hit outs to advantage, despite comments to the contrary, are in the very top bracket. He ie also responsible for our high clearances, many being directly his taking the ball away.

I agree with this comment, but didn't want to like it. I think it is worth repeating.
Many of my comments are worth repeating. So I do.

My family thinks it is senility

Someone did the analysis on Reddit but over the last 5 years for games decided by a single figure margin we have the best record of 13 wins at 76.5%

If only we had such a handsome record in blowouts.

Actually, as surprising as it may seem, we're not actually the worst in blowouts. In the last four years Carlton have only won a single game by more than 40.

Anybody a little happy that gc lost today and hanley's decision might come back to haunt him. We will win a premiership before gc:)

Anybody a little happy that gc lost and hanley's "mutual departure" might come back to haunt him. We will win a premiership before gc.:)

Izak Rankine can play that role for us Briz?;) We just need to figure who is going to finish 18th next year and do a trade.
Oh, I expect to do the trade in 2019 trade period. We can have Rankine and Ainsworth leading our mozzie squad, with our monster front line that includes Schache, Hipwood, Ballenden and about to be drafted Kobe Tozer.

Not really. I'm sad that GC are looking dysfunctional and don't seem to be able to get it together off the field.

Looks good I'm hoping you have factored salaries in there somewhere

Why would we be going for Ainsworth?

Honestly I used to love shitting on the Suns after Q Clash 1, but I really would love qld to be a strong football state. The more good non-traditional states the better!

Young, will be elite small forward. Country Victorian that is happy to live in QLD, and only has to move up the road after the trade. Is mates with half our draftees from the past two years. And fills a position of need.

Yeah I've very much come on board with the "northern alliance" way of thinking lately. I really do strongly feel they are in some trouble though.

To compound things, as of next financial year they are obligated to report financially as an entity independent of the AFL and I've been told that it's going to look quite ugly.

I reckon the plight of the Suns will be a big media hot-topic next year. I think a lot of it will be of the "did the AFL bite off more than they can chew" and "will the Gold Coast sporting graveyard claim another victim" flavour.

It will largely be hyperbole of course, but the AFL will have to step up and show they are committed for the long haul.

It won't happen. He's already extended and will be well remunerated.

Let's not continue to overplay the "he wanted to come to the Lions" thing.

We chose McCluggage and signs look good. Can't have em all.
