Take out the Richmond aberration and we'd dead set have a percentage in the 90s.

We've also been within at least 7 points or better at some stage of the last quarter in 7 out of the 9 games too. From just a quick glance comparatively in 2017 we only did that in about 10 games all up.

I'm not usually a fan of Channel 7's footy coverage, but I must admit, I thought their coverage was first rate today (with the exception of missing the song and not having any post-game coverage).

The coverage was insightful, had plenty of interviews with Lions players and officials (before and during the coverage), had Merrett miked up for the duration of the game and regular crosses to David Noble in the box throughout the game and James Bartel finally offered something constructive as a boundary-rider (when most don't).

And of course, it was great hearing Leigh give special comments in one of our games. Lastly, and this is a rarity, but BT didn't make me dumber for the experience given he just got on with the job (unlike most Friday night games when he carries on with his usual asinine schtick).

On a simillar note, is there anything more patently stupid than Player X fron a losing side trotting out the inanely ridiculous line ....." we didn't play the way we wanted to play"......well derrrr!!!!........... there is there is thing called an oppsition who are heavily invested in stopping you playing the way you want to play and encouraging you to play the way they want to play............

I agree, and I suspect (don't know for certain) that a fair bit of credit needs to go to the club as well. I don't know whether they approached Seven to do something special for a FTA game but gut feel is yes, because having that degree of access (player and runner miked up, in-game interviews with players and coaches) requires a massive amount of coordination and we wouldn't be the obvious choice to approach (in fact we'd probably be close to last).
