Darcy Gardiner...again.

The guy is a rock in defence and has been by and far our most improved in recent years.
Break out year for him. Really should be talked about in the AA squad even if he doesn't get in the team. Can play on smalls, mediums and talls. Crazy how he has gone from a nervous defender who gives away too many frees to a rock who is playing a lot like Andrews atm

I feel like every week I'm sliding the mental scale for Rayner's potential further right.
Goddamn, this kid is awesome.
Cameron Rayner, Hugh McCluggage, Jarrod Berry and Alex Witherden* who flies under the radar a little compared to the others is seriously mouth watering re what is possible over the next 10-12 years.

Who will be the biggest star is anyone's guess, if I had to pick one right now I'd go with McCluggage.

* Witherden could be our less high profile and celebrated member of the new FAB 4, similar to Nigel Lappin.

I'll bet you most Queensland kids starting holding the ball the way Clugg does within 18 months.

Fagan put it to the players to run this week and be mentally prepared for the crows. A lot of us had the fear we would be blown away due to Adelaide's desperation to make finals and our potential overconfidence. The fact we not only killed those feelings but played our hearts out for four quarters in a player driven effort is pretty fantastic. Adelaides desperation and pressure was phenomenal and we took it to them all game. The better team won, but when our list profile hits theirs in terms of experience and age, God help oppositions.

Clugga is our next Blacky. Creates time, little side steps and steadies and lowers the eyes. Witherden also has that ability to give himself time to have look before kicking

Although he had a quiet night. I LOVED Cox’s attack on the opposition player who was a certainty to take a simple mark. Did it 3 times with aggression and didn’t give away a free on any of them. Was something new from him
Yep, saw something new from Cox with his attack. Still a way to go but so much to work with. Reckon he will be a gun but not for another 12- 18 months.

See Blacky out and about every now & then. Looks like he could still pull the boots on and play but don't think that is what his back keeps telling him;)

Wasnt a huge night for Clugga but watching from ground level he had a couple of brilliant moments early in the game moving through traffic with ease and then hitting his target. Very very smooth. Trying to keep the lid on my expectations but he is looking pretty special.
