This loss may be a good thing after all. Fagan usually gets into this secure place where players give the minimum guaranteed effort and we beat whom we usually beat during the season. We all think its working until it doesn't work against a top 4 team. But players have removed the minimum guaranteed effort off the table now - this early in the season. So coaches have to try the drastic plans and moves early. I like it. We either go up or go on a free fall where everything gets questioned - from co-captains, 10 man leadership group, game plans, match day moves and so on.

Hi everyone, Damian Barrett here.

IF

The Bulldogs beat Richmond but not by too much
AND
Gold Coast don't beat St Kilda by too much
AND
Port don't beat Sydney by a middling amount
AND
Essendon beat the Giants
AND
Melbourne beats West Coast
AND
Hawthorn don't smash Geelong

THEN

Brisbane will still be in the 8 by round's end 😎

Oh wait, this is the positives thread... It's DEFINITELY gonna happen!

3 down 3 to go.

It's happening. IT'S HAPPENING!

Wandered over to the Sydney board and saw this

Garbage from the players, garbage from the coaching staff and selection committee.

Brutually efficient from Geelong

We have the talent, we have the game plan. And are one game away from being brutally efficient.

Can't wait to see it happen. Cause it is the missing premiership piece.

Charlie's form, but also his acknowledgement of the affect Gunston is having.

Gunston's addition to the forward mix is still taking shape but the three-time premiership player is drawing attention away from the other Brisbane stars.

He has slotted seven goals in five games, quickly finding his feet in a new city after more than a decade at Hawthorn.

"His quality is his leadership, he's from a quality side ... he played unreal footy at Hawthorn," Cameron said.

"Having him to learn from, a different player to what we have as our talls at the moment, he's a lead-up player, he's crafty.

"For me and our other talls, we can just learn off him and get some good advice."

Seems to be a pre-cursor article before a re-signing announcement.
I really hope so. His style of play really fits the Lions game plan at the moment, almost as if we've based it on him rather than the other way around.

It's especially heartening that he and his partner prefer Brisbane to Melbourne - that puts us way out in front.

I think the best coaches base their game plan around the strengths of their players not try to mould a game plan in spite of the players on your list.
