I don't think anybody said definite and I think it was just speculation as he was young and from WA.

well these sorts of losses make me nervous if we want to keep them around. Wines said he wanted to play his 2 years and then head home, this before he started winning with the ports and stayed. If we only win 3 games this season, it make me very nervous.

Positive: Mayes, Close, Paparone, Clarke, Aish, and Taylor are all getting valuable experience in regards to what it takes to compete at the highest level. Their development is getting fast tracked and you can already see the improvement in their games. They will all get a lot out of these games and as a result improve.

Our percentage is better than Melbourne and Adelaide.

According to the bookies we were not favorites in any of the three games so we haven't underachieved by that measure.

We covered the line rounds 1 and 2

2nd half of last season showed if we hit form we can get it right quickly.

Port are showing how quickly a team can go from bottom to contenders

Plenty of games to go

No one had high expectations going in to this season anyway

Yesterday, Fitzroy won the opening game of the season against St. Kevins! Next weekend, they play their first game at the Brunswick St. Oval against Old Halleybury and a great crowd is expected. Should be a ripper of a game and another win to the 'Roys. Much to be positive about there.

Here's a positive for me. Was in the same local place for lunch as Lewis Taylor, Matt McGuire and Darcy Gardiner today. They were kind enough to pose for a pic with my kids (thanks fellas made their day and a great start to the school holidays). I complimented Lewy on the start to his AFL career but he was not having a bar of it - the team's not winning so no positives to take. It's an old-fashioned but nice attitude to have I think.

To me that attitude says a lot too. You see it clearly in guys like Rockliff and Mayes as well. It's the old style team-oriented philosophy rather than a player having a "career" in football. Being professional is important but you also have to have that approach that you play footy in a team and your success means nothing much without team success. And it is the guys who absolutely just hate losing more than anything who most often find a way to win you the close games in the last minute.

Does anyone have anything??

I set 4 personal bests on my morning run, had a cheese kranský for breakfast from davies park markets and undercoated the down stairs rumpus room in time for the new floor to be installed monday, thanks for asking.

Maybe when the 2013 draftees near 100 games we'll have an ok side.

Robbo looks close and runs really hard.

Lewy Taylor fits right in - all over the park and super versatile.

Rockliff - what a superstar.
