Aside from the Collingwood game, all our losses have been by under 2 kicks, and we’ve lost the last 2 games (rather than being beaten outright). This suggests it’s in our hands to address.
A reset at the bye for a charge to the finals is possible.

Biggest positive from yesterday's VFL (other than Oscar getting through the game), was the way Bruce went about it: kicking goals; exploding out of packs; more ball. Much more akin to the form he showed in the lead-up to being drafted.

Isn't lightning quick but has that side step to get through traffic and into the clear.

Also must be one of the longest kicks at our club

Playing poor but early wins keeping us afloat.
Our best is yet to come for this season - here's hoping it arrives at the business end.

We'll certainly need a lift right across the ground. Payne was probably one of our only players having a cracking year.

We have the cattle to do it. Just takes the desire.

It feels a bit like last year - we had a so-close but so-far grand final defeat in 2023 and were looking to start at another grand final in week 1 2024. It took a while for the minds to reset and then we built that winning run in the second half of season. With a bit of luck during finals we made it in the end.

I feel the team is looking for another finals series already but they have to earn the right to play there. Hopefully we'll have the right mindset during second half of season to get there first. Beyond that what happens is a week to week proposition.

We haven’t got close to the level of performance we had in the first half of opening round last year. 2023 we were a better team than this comfortably too.

You mean the game we lost? Doesn't count for much if you can't sustain it for a whole game.

GWS looked awesome in the first half of last years Semi Final.

What has let us down a little is consistent effort across 4 quarters against whoever the opposition is.

Tbh we play is if we've already won 2 or 3 flags and just have to wait for the end of the year to turn it on.

Despite everyone thinking we have it in us when we want to I'm concerned about the way we're going this year.

What got to me was the level of intensity we were able to muster when the game was basically out of our reach on Saturday. And if we kicked straight we could have nearly pinched it. The time for that was 15 minutes earlier. We had the legs and the energy obviously but not the desperation till it was all over.

I'm not even thinking about after the bye. We've got a good record in backs to the wall games against the odds and this week is the perfect opportunity to find out whether we still want it or not.

Spare me.

Now the Pope is putting up inspirational messages on Twitter just like any B Grade influencer. Just be a Pope mate.

Getting the popcorn ready for when the Pope and the Trumpster have an all out spat all over SM.

This is the world that we live in.

Dignity is something that seems lost in his age. In fact the less of it you have the more attention you're likely to get.

Go easy, his team are 23-49 this season

Non-ironically, isn't putting inspirational messages out on whatever medium will cover him literally the job of the Pope?

Logan Morris 7th in the Coleman. Had a look thinking he’s probably kicked 17 or 18 goals, up to 30 and a slight chance to get to 50. Unbelievable.
Glad we locked him away for another 2 years. Offers rolling in would be insane.

Im thinking about all the hype around the young forwards like Darcy and Thilthorpe, and Morris doesn't have that extreme scary height they have. But he's probably the smartest of them. His positioning is great, goal kicking looks really reliable and field kicking is outstanding. Brilliant player already

From the side that demolished the Cats last night we have Callum Ah Chee and Keidean Coleman who will make our side better.

Then you have the Big O in for Fort if he can get his body right and find his best form.

Linc McCarthy a long shot to be in great form come finals but if so he also improves us.

The conundrum for the match committee will be who goes out.

I really like McLachlan. The kids got the nous to play forward obviously but he showed something in wing yesterday linking up many times. He also did the defensive run and mark stopping the ball from getting to Stengle. We need to get more games into him, he'll be quite handy if we ever want to move Fletcher onball.
