Claye Beams should be back very soon. Really think with some luck he can be a quality player for us. Versatile and can play inside and outside mid.

Am a fan.

Just been thinking what a great pick up Trent West has turned out to be. For a guy who almost seemed like an afterthought during the trading and drafting period he has been a real asset that it turned out we really needed almost straight away. And he has stood up and done a sterling job in tough circumstances. Great addition to the club.

People are saying wait 3 preseasons for the players to develop, but i reckon Cutler, Aish, Gardiner, Taylor and Robertson will all look like AFL players next year after getting 20 games under their belt. Just look at Mayes who is now one of our best, and he wasn't having nearly as much an influence as Taylor and Aish in his earlier games. I'm not saying we'll make the finals, but it's a real possibility to get 10-14 wins next season if the players continue like they are. We probably should take into account all the factors which i'm sure I don't need to list for this year.

Beware the second year blues!

Ah, the second year blues - aka the "they're playing as well as last year, but we're no longer surprised" blues. ;)

I hear Macro Paparone just landed leading man for Multiplicity 2, because he was EVERYWHERE. So happy for Marco. Superb game.

The midget brigade up forward. They had Essendon shitting themselves at times tonight. Need more polish and bigger engines but they are going to be something special.

I have said it before but Clarke is really starting to look more comfortable, game by game. He is one we are going to be really happy we have, even if he isn't one of the stars. He did some things tonight that experienced defenders can do and gradually he is losing the panic from his game and starting to find some more time with the ball. He is also beginning to throw his weight around a little. A lot more development to come but, in the future, we are really going to be grateful we were forced by circumstances to get so many games into him while he is still young for a defender.

It's frustrating losing nearly every week, but it's nice watching our youngsters knowing (more than likely) they will be guns in the future and there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Plus we can say we were there when we were shit
