I realise I am probably in the minority but I managed to find a few positives out of last night. If we managed to convert and didn't muck around with it going forward we win that game comfortably. Now more than ever we need a bona fide key forward.

Also willing to admit I was wrong to be so harsh on Leppa early in the season. Witnessed the Dees first hand yesterday and they were God awful; missing out on Roos is looking like a blessing in disguise more and more. Definitely come around as to what the orange roughie is trying to do.

Oh! Oh! Dizzy's tackle!

Moment of the match. I have a fractured rib and that moment impulsively got me out of my seat where I let out the most agonising roar and nearly passed out from the pain.

It was a mighty, mighty tackle.

You have my sympathy TBD...from my first 4 trips to the snow I came home with fractured ribs 3 times.

If you just don't laugh or sneeze or fart it won't be too bad.:)

To be fair, the Dees list is awful. If Roos had come to us then he would look a lot better than he is over there.
But l am glad we aren't playing that defensive crap gameplan he is trying to do.

The stealth tank continues.

So many missing players coupled with a young side, it's always going to be hard to win games.

Can't knock effort or talent though which is what this young side is showing.

TBH, i really don't care about losing games like we have v the Tigers or WC. We showed in both games, we can compete, and can beat those teams. Our own inexperience let us down, and with our injury list for a rebuilding team you have to expect that. It is when you end up getting buried by 10 goals against teams that are your equal you need to start asking questions.

The fight is there, the talent is there, the experience and poise is not. I like that Leppa has taken this team and is molding it to be his own, and he is getting the games into the players he wants to have out there. We have no choice but to do this, and it is something that should have happened 5 years ago. Voss attempted it, but the club got cold feet. We have talented and exciting kids, we are a bottom team but we are rebuilding. This is where we are at right now, but it will be a great journey to follow.

I just hope we can get our CEO in place, and get the off field sorted so we can get the best from these players.

There is definitely a feeling at games that the team is heading in the right direction. I watched a couple of times where players were on each other's case about poor options which suggests that they all know what to do and now just need to be able to execute it.

Yes the communication about structures and marking up has improved out of sight in the last month.

We don't drop our heads when we kick ourselves out of a game. A lot of young teams, when they aren't getting reward for effort pack it in, but we really seem to believe in what we are doing and keep on trying to get it right.

West Coast managed to shut down our exits from the back 50 a couple of times and we managed to work our way through it to find alternatives. We have also been moving the ball through the middle pretty well the last few weeks, we just break down on half forward - and our kicking for goal. But considering how little we had our ball in our f50 over the course of the season, its fair that we get a little lost when we have it down there, but we seem to keep playing like there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that we know we will get it sorted eventually.

And the second tier mids should start pressuring the top-liners to lift their game too! Much excite, very wow.

Lions boast most debuts.

That is a pretty striking story of how reliant we've been on kids (who have certainly held their own), and yet we've still found a way to be competitive recently. While the season has been far from ideal in some ways, there are a lot of reasons to be bullish about our on field prospects.

I am a chronic allergy sufferer and this cold, dry weather (as well as sharing our bed with our long haired cat) is good for about 50 sneezes a day. Not fun.

Are they meant to get more sore before they get better?

The less aggravation the better of course...on my first trip home with the condition we spent a few days at the brother in laws place in Sydney...first morning there my then 6 yo daughter,on waking got into bed next to me for a while and then used my wounded ribs to lever herself up and out of bed.

Needless to say that is a scenario to avoid at all costs.

YEP! I hear snorting pepper powder might help...

The slower version is to wait for GingerGreatness to incorporate this movie Adams Rib TheBrownDogs Rib - into next years round 1 Preview.

...or as this is the positives thread - get yourself a Brazilian cat!

I can heartily recommend not backpacking around Europe with them. Apparently that significantly increases their healing time.

Running back to the Valley from the RBH after discharging yourself so you can keep drinking rather than waiting in emergency after being hit and run by a cop car flying down the wrong side of Brunswick St isn't the best thing for cracked ribs either.

Heh ... funny story Caiphus. This friend of yours that you speak of must've been very embarrassed the following day!

Is that a vent or a positive?
It has been cleverly crafted to be an endless loop of positive followed by vent followed by positive, over and over until the Lions when our next flag (September 2017 to be exact).
