Rockcliff is a future captain in the making.
Outstanding 47 touches.

Great to see Crisp go well. I think we will keep him next year because I think he is a slow developer who is worth persevering with. He will, in the medium term be useful depth and in the longer term be a solid part of the team as we improve. He did some good stuff tonight.

He's a really great size - has the strength to break through and take a good contested grab. I thought he showed some good signs, too.

Agreed. Hope he finishes the year strongly. Don't think he'd be in too much danger career-wise regardless. I think there's a few ahead of him in the firing line.

The best positive.... Round 3 Suns win by 53, today Lions win by 54.... So we're plus One for the season !!!

Cumulative Q-Clash to date

Brisbane Lions 115.110.800 vs Gold Coast 87.102.624

On Crisp, his omission throughout the year has baffled me, particularly with Rich, Moloney and Raines missing for most the year.

Great size and one that I really do hope is retained for 2015. Have never been left disappointed following any of his 12 odd senior games.

Maybe it us the fact that there isn't anything "special" about him. I haven't seen a lot of him but from what I gave seen, he looks to be a consistent footballer but nothing that is super string about him. Looks to have a redden role.

Plenty of positives for the Lions I would think.
  • First year coach doing a great job and who looks like he knows exactly what he wants. I think it is fantastic that Leppa has quickly worked out who he thinks has a future and is investing in them and at the same time not wasting time with players who aren't going to cut it.
  • Lots of young talented small forwards.
  • Stef Martin.
  • Young leaders emerging - Rockcliff, recent setbacks will be a slap in his face that will see him become the leader to drive your club forward.
  • Close - showing some glimpses of potential.
  • New experienced CEO up for the challenge.
  • Lee Matthews.

Despite losing a higher draft pick I'm glad we're climbing the ladder. I think it's more reflective of where we should be.

Don't think he's had the consistency Dylan from my recollection of the reserves reports. Might have been one slow to adapt to Leppa's philosophy.

He's never really grabbed my attention I have to say, but I liked some of his work last night.

I love the way we play. It's a great brand of footy.

When we're on we do the linking up handball very well through the middle as we have for a few years now. It's the chipping around where we fall down.

I even like the gut running from the middle to lead and take the ball up the sideline. We're executing it really well these days.

Yep, we just have the mozzies to really break the lines with the handball and run now. It's bloody fun.

I think being able to hold onto the footy has been Leppa's main focus for the season and is an are we're making steady improvement in. When we can match that improvement in our inside game our midfield will start to be tough to beat.

darcy gardiners diving spoil in the 4th quarter I think it was. the ball was kicked to the shins of his opponent and darcy closed him down extremely quickly and made an amazing diving spoil from behind. commentators didnt pick up on it but I thought it was incredible! a sign of things to come from darcy

Dizzy also appeared to be the only player that came and gave Tom Lynch something to think about after he roughed up Sam Mayes. Albeit a minute or two after the fact.
