Zorko > Hanley > Aish > Patfull > Zorko > Hanley > Crisp.

The run we get from Zorko and Hanley is immense, when Rich comes back next year - he won't have to struggle with a tag anymore ;)

I like the fact that we're two wins ahead of the clubs below us. Means that there really isn't any advantage at all to be gained from losing, so we can put the usually inevitable tanking references to one side for the rest of the season.

Good size about crisp, can take a mark up front and run through the middle. Will get a new contract you'd think
I think they were all givens - the issues have been the defensive side of his game and ineffective disposal - both of which seem to have improved based on the evidence of his last two games.

the defensive side of his game was his strongest suit always, his zippy pressure acts and tackling skills were what he was rated for in his draft year. Ineffective disposal was his major issue

The run we can get at times and chains of rapid handballs is a feature of our game now. Inexperience and skills let us down sometimes but we showed against Adelaide that we can move the ball downfield OK, we just can't score often enough.

Some things to work on leading into next season could make a big difference:
- Handballing to a player moving at speed.
- Sizing up opportunities inside 50 and taking a chance on going for goal when there is not an obvious target.
- quality shepparding at every opportunity (Rockliff shepparded for about 30m for a goal against the Crows)
- Faster decision making from half back to half forward. We sometimes doubt ourselves and hold up waiting for more targets to arrive then do a slow switch. That is OK sometimes but more often than not we need to roll the dice a bit in those situations. Modern defences are quite happy for the switch to occur most of the time.

These are the things, done well, that will really make us a very hard team to defend against. I think the two big fears for an opposition coach are accuracy of ball movement (which we aren't the best at) and speed of ball movement, which we could be the best at.

Might have been mentioned already, maybe the club has released it as news i'm not sure but i spoke to someone today who is related to McStay and he said he will be signing a contract extension in the coming weeks (unless something unforeseen happens in the interim) which backs up what was said on the Lions website recently, good news again. I was told he is happy up there and his parents are happy with how Brisbane treats them, good to hear we are getting things right.

So which media organisation will be first with the predictable "Daniel happy to McStay with the Lions" or similar pun headline?

Everyone will tie for first.

Actually, we should all have a guess at who will go with what.

I reckon Fairfax will go with 'Daniel McStay's with the Lions'. You see, it's technically grammatically correct.

That was the exact kind of performance you want in response to the Adelaide game. Stoked.

We play some really good looking footy as well, can't wait to see us in a couple of years.

Smashed the Pies in disposals, clearances, inside 50s and contested possession tonight, we honestly could have won by more if anything! Ignoring their injury issues we had them up against it from the start.

And take a bow Stef - 32 touches, 27 hit-outs, 7 marks, 4 inside 50s and 3 clearances. Amazing ruckman's game.
