all of our inexperienced young talent has an additional game under their belt up against one of the best teams in the comp. Great learning

On Sunday everyone seems to agree that we did some things well, but made too many mistakes. Over the next week or two, we should get three of our best 22 (Zorko, Green, Merrett) and Rocky with some match fitness. Then, hopefully a month or so later, we get back arguably our best player (Beams). It doesn't necessarily work player for player, but if you pushed out our worst 4 or so from Sunday and replaced them with more reliable players I'd guess that we might've scored maybe 2 or 3 more and conceded 2 or 3 fewer. Simplifying, that would make it a very close run game against one of the best few sides in the comp at their home ground.

And we were fun to watch!

If we can develop an equal amount that we did from the start of last season to the end, then we will be looking pretty good by the end of the season. Especially with the draw opening up.

Yep and we get the Cats away over and done with after Round 3:thumbsu:
Remarkable that after Round 3 our remaining 19 games will all be played in Queensland, Melbourne or Adelaide.

Positive: No more trips to Subi, Tassie or Sydney this year!

I didn't realise that. It is certainly a positive .

Aish looks like he's playing hot potato when he hand passes. Has to be the worst technique I've ever seen in an AFL footballer. Watching him play last night it was hard to believe that we got 2 second round picks for him, would have been very happy with one. Thanks Derek.

He looked like a first gamer. Overwhelmed. The guy has played 33 senior games.

And there've been some pretty good games in those 33. I don't know where it's going wrong for him, but I suspect playing for Collingwood isn't what he thought it would be.

Jack Watts factor....schoolboy star...doesn't necessarily translate.

We know after his first season that he can be good but not much more, i think Collingwood supporters believed they were getting a fully fledged star in the making that they only had to "de-brisbanize". On top of that with so much talk of how big of a recruit he was for them i think it raised expectations of him which he never showed enough with us to deserve. It is only his first game though... but i do hope he stays at this level for the rest of his career.

Zorko, have to give him the chocolates for busting a gut.

Beams showing signs that he is best 22 as well with a great first quarter.

We won 2 quarters and most importantly the last quarter, we have the fitness base to run out 4 quarters.

Credit where credit is due to Damien Austin.
