Biggest and simplest positive for me - we are clearly better than this time last year. Keep that up each year and we will be fine

Schache is equal 3rd in the league for contested marks:cool:

Several times I decided there was no way he could mark a ball despite getting to it first... and then he managed to flick it to himself and keep control. He's got fantastic hands.

Great timing too. Reads the flight early and gets in good position.

I can't recall a single time when the defender took a mark against him. Contrast that to Leuenberger and McStay last year.

Watching on the telly, the noise levels of the crowd definitely went up whenever Schache got near it. A bit ala Browny and Aker. Very exciting.

His performance and potential are going to make finding a kpd a lot easier. Midfield - check
Forward line- check
Well paid opportunity for me/and other kpd in a young team with heaps of potential - hells yes.

That's the one that excites me even more than the marks he takes. He doesn't get marked over. Where that is predictable and reliable, our smalls can confidently locate around him when he's contesting aerially. Particularly when he's upfield, I think that could help with better team spacing/coordination and some better contested ball numbers.

Looking forward here but do we hope Schache gets the match up on J. Kolo to in turn affect the matchup with K. Kolo against the suns?
Different players and slightly different roles in their respective teams though i feel this is a real opportunity for leppa to give him a role and see how he goes about it

Taylor is starting to eliminate the turnovers, he was good and he runs with genuine speed, not a 3/4 looking up the field jog.

Schache and Walker we have guys who can pull down a mark, but we havent clicked to that yet and dont look for them enough. Schache can cover the ground

Claye Beams 1st qtr showed the player he could become.

Green will be better for the run, he seemed to get a bit more touch as the game went on.

Seeing we had so many passengers the result was relatively close. Really missed Paps and Robinson.

I was only able to watch the first quarter last night, but man Schache is exciting. His awesome mark towards our back half was immense and even that huge attempted mark which lead to a shot at goal by Green. We are so lucky to have him.

And shit, he's only 18.

Equal 3rd for contested marks. Wow if schache can keep that up at the end of season. That would be a massive positive

Schache is the goods, would of liked him to see him slot a goal or two, but he had about 10 mates I could of said the same for. Walker also showed something and can take a mark, also he is a presence up forward and will stick up for the kids. With Green, Zorks, Christensen has the makings of a forward line, need a genuine medium-tall third forward.

That's easy. We have Sam Mayes.

Oh. :(

I love Schache's ability to just contest the ball in the air. He has taken some good marks, but the ones he doesnt take, he doesnt get out marked, he makes a contest and brings ball to ground.

Taylor is going to flourish under this faster ball movement style of play. He naturally plays on quickly, and that got him in trouble in previous years as the team wasnt set up. Now that we are streaming forward and have targets up forward to move the ball quickly to, he is being more productive and damaging with the ball. I really love the thought of Bundy, Squiz and Zorko running the ball quickly through the middle.

Only problem with Lewy, is that he thinks so much faster than the rest..should be spending time on the ball.
Lewy Taylor would be leading our best and fairest right now I reckon.

yes, would love to see him get a bit more time as an outside mid, to me he seems to have the fitness levels he runs his arse off every week.

along with that wouldn't mind seeing christensen given more time as an inside extractor type role at center square restarts, ball ups, throw ins etc. he is elite at that role IMO.
