As much as he'd be capable, I think he's one of our best small-mid sized defenders, and it'd hurt our defence too much to move him to the midfield, especially given the Hawks' strength in small-mid sized forwards (Rioli, Puopolo, Breust, Shiels). I'd prefer to ask Keays and Berry to continue to step up in the midfield, and maybe bring Bastinac in (clearly our best performed midfielder in the NEAFL, despite the flak he gets here).
I agree on Robbo but a big ask for two teenagers against a still pretty good midfield. But then again the might be our best (read only) options.

A 20-year-old and a 19-year old, but yes, I agree. Still, we're going to have to start trusting them to play like AFL players at some point, and they've been doing that the last few weeks.

Keays is finding his feet and I hope we sign Berry long term, imagine what he will be like in two or three years.

Don't think Bastinac will be getting a seniors game until he plays the game the way the coach wants. That was made pretty clear with just one game back, a huge bake from the coach and back into the ressies
If Bastinac, Bell and Bewick can't break into this Brisbane lineup with the injuries it has, then their AFL careers are as good as over.

This thread is redundant.

I seriously don't get posts like this. Nobody is asking you to post in a positives thread, yet you come here and post a snarky comment. What exactly are you trying to achieve? Positively nothing is my guess :P

Lets get this thread back on track. Peter Blanch said on today's recovery report that Dayne Beams will be right for next week. Saturday technically not next week so not sure whether he meant v the hawks or the crows.

Hopefully Hawkes I reckon

That would go a long way in giving us a chance. Even if he spends a heap of time in the forward pocket, having him on the field would be huge.

Agreed. If they won't play for their own careers, how can they play for others?

He is just venting. No vent thread????

If we are going to play the like-for-like game, then absolutely does Nick Robbo move into the centre as a negating mid. Crack some skulls!

Careful you might offend jackess ;)

He's so cute

He's a good bloke and played a brilliant game on the weekend. Had the highest disposal count of his career and while he was under pressure for nearly of of those disposals he did quite well. Also didn't look as easy to push around which is a definite plus.
