Pretty sure a lot of us were, until we weren’t.In hindsight it's hard to believe there were people on this board defending Leppa in 2016
One to the reigning premiers and top ranked team and the other to a team travelling very well.In 2016, we had suffered 8 48+ point losses by round 12.
In 2017, we had suffered 5 40+ losses by round 12.
In 2018, we have suffered 2 40+ point losses by round 12.
That is quite staggering.

Gold - got to love statisticsWe have the highest average winning margin in the AFL.
I haven't done the due diligence on this stat. But I'll roll with it anyway cos it must be correct![]()
The age demographics of the current team is pretty good, 14 players are less than 23 whilst the remaining 8 are 27 or older. Good signs.
Bailey 18
Rayner 18
McCluggage 19
Berry 19
Witherden 19
Hipwood 20
Andrews 21
Cutler 22
Gardiner 22
Taylor 22
McStay 22
Robertson 22
Cameron 23
McInerny 23
Rich 27
Christensen 27
Beams 28
Eagles 28
Robinson 28
Zorko 29
Martin 31
Hodge 33
Apart from Martin and Hodge the others should have at least another 3 good years in them.
100% record at Perth Stadium; not sure many teams can boast that.![]()

I think this year is somewhat of a catch up year for Hippy. He grew something like 4 cms during the off-season of 16-17 and I reckon we are seeing the effects of that this year with his timing in his kicking. He will catch up with another off season coming up and another hard training block his body and timing will catch up and he will be on song and kick 45 to 50 goals next year. How good was it to see Hipwood leading at the ball carrier aggressively. Obviously early days, but it's very promising to see he's using his abilities to good use.
Now he runs so hard his accuracy has dropped off.![]()
Bundy extended for another year. Smart move - let him earn a big contract after a year or so back in the game.
I love Bundy. But there are 2 serious areas he lacks in.
1 - He never has any time in congestion, just one of those blokes who gets gang tackled the moment he scoops the ball. You'll never see him stepping through traffic like Beams and Zorko.
2 - He lacks serious penetration on his kicks, rarely makes the distance from anywhere outside 30 meters unless its a set shot.
He does crack in hard though, no wonder he kept breaking his collar bone, might be some technique issues there because i swear at least twice a game there's an instance where you think he has done it again lol.
He's also one of our best (along with Charlie, maybe) in terms of positioning front-and-square at the feet of the talls, which is something we've struggled with for years.
Rayner is very good at this also. He's also one of our best (along with Charlie, maybe) in terms of positioning front-and-square at the feet of the talls, which is something we've struggled with for years.

His ceiling is incredibly high IMO.Rayner plays like a tall in the air - pretty incredible potential really.
Fantastic, he has really grown on me of late. Every time I hear him speak, he really seems deeply passionate about our footy club, and people calling for him to be traded are just plain wrong. He is one of our leaders and we need all we can get.If you want to watch something that will leave a massive smile on your face, give this a watch http://m.lions.com.au/video/2018-07-01/postmatch-stef-martin
