2019 (so far) is the supporter year of being nice - we aren’t bickering as much as previous few years, we are conversing with respect (even when it’s with visitors) and I reckon the like ration per post has dramatically risen.

Love is in the air.....

Keep winning lions, you make us and bigfooty nicer and happier.

This is an obvious :thumbsu:like fishing post. So, here's a :thumbsu:like for you.

Rozee is 6'1. Gardiner is just shy of 6'5.

If we had a smaller, agile defender who could have stayed with Rozee's movement, maybe Gardiner wouldn't have been outmarked by a player 8cm shorter than him. It wasn't Rozee jumping over Gardiner, it was Rozee getting that separation and taking uncontested marks, and Rozee wasn't running faster than Gardiner to get that separation. It was just Gardiner being caught flat footed on a few occasions.

.

Without wanting to get too far off the thread topic, I don't think Diz had a great night, but that contest made him look worse than he was.

Rozee was on the wrong line and the ball was past him as he jumped. He really had no right to hold on to it once he jumped. I reckon 19 out of 20 guys drop that and a good defender playing the percentages will sweep it away. Alternatively, push hard under an off-balance Rozee and you risk taking his legs out or getting tangled up as he falls and giving away a free kick.

As it happens, the kid playing his third game is like a cat, the ball sticks in his mitts and Dizzy looks a little silly. Great grab, but Diz maybe not as bad is it looks on the replay.

My point was Rozee should never had that type of separation from Gardiner in the first place. Often it wasn't Rozee out running Gardiner, it was more that Gardiner was caught flat footed a few times, and caught watching Rozee and wasn't watching the ball at all.

That still photo doesn't show the whole play. Better to watch the 5 seconds before the leap by Rozee. Gardiner was never in a position to get in a spoil.

And (it’s not a positive for us but QLD footy in general) if the Suns win tomorrow both QLD teams will be 3-1. Not too shabby considering the corresponding NRL teams

Danger possibly in hot water too - I tell ya, this season is just opening up for us - that's my view anyway, on a team and a personnel level.

Anything is possible from here.

I've just spent the past hour perusing some statistics on AFL.com (for some reason). Interesting stat, Stef is leading a statistic called 'score launches' with 15, whilst Oscar is coming 11th with 10.
Score Launch: Scoring chains launched by an intercept possession, free kick, hitout-to-advantage or clearance (from the AFL Prospectus)

For hitouts to advantage they are 5th and 11th respectively, and we've been scoring well from centre stoppages. Makes sense. They've each delivered at least a few of the other categories as well.

Stef Martin by far the most underrated Lions player by Lions fans. Really strange.

I'm one of those strange ones. Sure he can get his hands on the ball around the ground but I still cringe when Steph gets the ball in his hands, and he's of nearly zero use as a forward.

Although I will admit the ruckmen are more important in the center square since the 666:devil: introduction.
