Herculean effort given where he's come from, but I really don't need to see every shot a guy at +5 hits. And I know he's probably in pain, but give a smile for once Eldrick.
Can Cam do it ??

No one in Aus apart from golf nuts know who he is but at 24 to come where he's come from and win the Players Champ. and then go out in the top 2 on the last day at Augusta is up there with Barty in terms of greatness.

I can't sleep so will be up at 4.40 to watch every shot.

He is on the news in Brisbane quite a bit, as he is from here. Sharing the same name as the Rugby League player also makes him recognisable.

He's definitely got the game for it. But Augusta and all that, Who knows? Also some good names still up there amongst it.

Speaking of Augusta, surely the 18th has to be visually one of the least appealing going around. I know it wasn't designed for that in mind and there's probably not much you can do to change it and it's probably challenging to play but after the rest of the back 9, as a viewer it leaves a bit to be desired.

I know. It's always perplexed me. But having been there I can tell you it's no gimme. As Greg Norman and many others would attest.

Cam is too young to get the yips tomorrow I'm hoping. But you're right . Anything can happen once they hit Amen Corner . How often have we seen 3 shot swings on a hole.

That tee shot just makes my sphincter tighten a fair bit. And I tend to fade (read:slice) the ball.

Unfortunately, I'll be likely on my way to work, but hopefully I can watch a bit on the bus.

It's incredible how many times guys have been disecting the fairway straight down the middle all day and get to those last 4 holes and spray one or two.

Or dunk it in the water. If you get behind the trees there the recovery shots are very imposing and anyone who doesn't take their medicine risks a double bogey.

I hope you get to watch some. If Cam's in contention any employer who makes someone go to work tomorrow is a bum.

Cam is a decent chance tomorrow. I don't think he will be overawed by the experience. He has 3 top ten finishes at the masters, including 2nd in 2020 and 10th in 2021. He knows the course and plays well there almost every year. His wins this year were also against the highest quality players, duking it out shot for shot with Rahm (World #1 until last week) at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii and then at The Players Championship only a few weeks ago, against a major championship quality field.

The only problem is Scheffler is in amazing form. Has won three times in about six weeks, including the World Match Play Championship. Going to be very hard to stop him. Some of his shots today, off the back of a bogey or an errant tee shot were just incredible.

Looking forward to it. Go Cam and dare I say QUEENSLANDER!!

A win next week will give us our best start to the season since 2003 (where we were 5-1-1 after 7).
Gc will be no easy kill, but that would be a great start to the year.
It’s great to be going just ok and getting wins as opposed to going ok and having honourable losses.
Building the year ready for top form by finals.

I think the Suns will be our toughest opponent outside of Geelong in the first 6 weeks. They're playing deceptively good footy.

Once again I think they like Essendon and Collingwood may do pretty well around the ground but not convert enough chances inside forward 50. Their forward line does not scare at all.

Joe's leading the afl in goals and contested marks - obviously has played 1 more game than all the others.

But has the second best goals average of anyone who has played more than a game at 3.2 per game (King and hawk are at 3.3), and has the equal average for contested marks with King, Peter Wright and Mitch Lewis.

All of this is still without him kicking a bag of 5 for us - which is pretty crazy given he kicked over 40 last year and is on track to kick 60 this year.

Best start to a season since 1996....now that goes in the Positives  ;) :thumbsu: :p :fire:  Thread.
I want to both "like" and "wow" that one. Leaves me really surprised that we never matched it from 2000-2004.

In our minds 2000-4 was one of the greatest sides ever . But intriguingly we had periods during the H/A seasons where we really struggled. And never finished top of the ladder.

In my view in 2004 we were absolutely flying in some of our latter games and ripped a couple of teams apart . That was the best footy we ever played. But Demetriou and father time with injuries made us totally vulnerable in the finals. How Browny got up for the GF is a mystery. Luke Power was knocked out in the prelim and played the GF . As soon as he got near the ball PA went his head. Shaun done. Lynchy should never have played. In hindsight we should've started the rebuild around Browny then but we all know about hindsight.

We played our best footy in 2004 and were at the peak of our powers that season IMO.

I still have no doubt that we would have made it 4 in a row if not for the quirky Finals "FIX-turing" that went on that year.

Not only did we have to play a "home" PF in Melbourne against Geelong but the AFL sunk the boot in further by giving Port an extra day to prepare for the GF by scheduling their PF on the Friday night and us on the Saturday night.

We actually led Port in the GF into the third quarter before injury, fatigue and not to mention some questionable umpiring, saw us finally succumb to the inevitable.

If Leigh Matthews was on here, he would give that more than a like :thumbsu: .
