1. we didnt engage in throwing games because the bookmakers told us to throw games...

2. we didnt violate the salary cap (fingers crossed)

We have three t four players you can build a side from. Nat, Shuey, Lecca and JK.

Saw the guys train Friday and Luke Shuey will def be capt at some stage, just such a professional, barely ****s up ANYTHING and even saw him handing out some advice on kicking to more experienced players. Also, like Kerr and Judd back in the day likes practicing some tricks with the footy at training.

Then to see him back up on Saturday.... he could be anything.

...Not many West Coast fans saw the carnaige... Half of the people holding up the Weagle's banner were Geelong supporters :p

Sorry, couldn't resist. Thought you played good for the first half, at least challenged us a little. Good luck for next year :thumbsu:

I know! Imagine if the following players improved 10%, all at the same time:

  • Tom Swift
  • Luke Shuey
  • Brad Sheppard
  • Chris Masten
  • Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls

(improvement may come from a lack of injury, increased strength/size, increased confidence & consistency due to the above).

I'm feeling pretty positive about that.

All the improvement will come in the midfield. Even if only half our recent draftees improve over the next few years, then we'll still be a much much better side than we were in 2010.

We have little to lose in terms of experienced players - MacKenzie will cover for Glass; Naitanui for Cox - therefore we literally can only get better.

I'm confident that the above players all have enough talent to become great AFL players. They may not all be A-graders, but I think they will all form a strong midfield. It'll click, but we'll need better coaching, better luck with injuries, and some (more) patience.

When multiple young players improve simultaneously, we'll see this side play some great footy. I'm really excited.
