I just hope so much that Alex can play out the rest of the season in full. Imagine if we snuck into finals and he played a finals game or two - you’d be so confident as a fan heading into 2022 with AP at the peak of his powers aged 27.

I’m still not convinced that you can play Hamling, Pearce, Ryan, Cox and Logue in the same back 6.
But APs 200cm frame and spoiling ability against the big key forwards is so valuable. fu** I’d love to see him giving the likes of Kennedy and Hawkins a pantsing later this season.
Regardless it’s a moot point as they will never all be fit and available at the same time
It's easy to forget just how good Hammer is - a bit like when people were writing Alex Pearce off. Hamling is best 22 every day of the week - I'd be finding a new spot for Logue or Cox if everyone is available. For mine - Hamling gets left out. Pearce plays lockdown, Cox the 2nd KPD, Ryan looser and Logue on the smaller guys/3rd tall depending on matchups.

Some worthy positivity is a big kudos to Acres, he has been brilliant the past few weeks, putting his body on the line and sticking a heap of tackles. Credit where credit is due, that crisp tackle was incredible !!

In one breath you're saying you're worried about injuries, then you're wanting to move guys on.Pearce is not of the woods in terms of injuries.
Sure he can play but I want two season playing 35 plus games before I consider changing my mind.
Hamling is in the same boots. He can play for sure and easier is in best 22 by a comfortable mile but can't get on the park.
In saying all this, can you have Hamling, Pearce, Logue, and Cox all in the same team, with Chapman, Hughes, Young, and Ryan as medium defenders?
Then you add Wilson as a small defender. That's 9 defenders without counting Walker, Tucker or Aish.
For my likings, you have 3 Tall backs, 2 medium backs and 2 small defenders as balanced defense.
Having Cox or Logue playing WAFL isn't a great idea except for Peel and a waste of salary cap space.
We need to move on a tall back and rather keeping the younger players in Logue an Cox.

Really? That's ****ing incredible.Pearce 90+% game time and most Klm travelled.
Must be worth a big![]()

Fb. Hammer, Pearce, Ryan.
Hb. Cox, Ryan, Willow
DefMid. Young, Walker, Logue
Interchange(def). Hugh's
Tucker can move out of defense & play high half forward. Who have I missed ?
That would be a very formidable backline.
Cox and Logue have already done their apprenticeship. In one breath you're saying you're worried about injuries, then you're wanting to move guys on.
It's OK to have young players developing in WAFL, when they are good enough to push the incumbents out they will.
It's called depth and the lack of it is what has derailed our last few seasons.
Good teams have good depth, we are now "getting" to that position. Fearing that everyone who doesn't play AFL each week will leave is just paranoia.Cox and Logue have already done their apprenticeship.
Plus, if we do that they will demand a trade. Rather trade Hamling or Pearce than Cox or Logue.
Chapman, and Walker developing in the WAFL is fine but not AFL standard players who are in their in 5 or 6 years.
Rather, have a Alex Silvagni type player as depth if the injuries get over the top than having a Hamling is taking up cap space.
Cox, Logue, and Peace/Hamling is enough in the best 22 with Chapman covering any injuries and developing in WAFL. Plus, two talls denfers plus Ryan and Hughes can cover two injuries.
Can Hamling play? 100% and would come in and play great footy but it's seriously a lot of cap space for depth.
They don’t $400-500k sitting in the seconds.Good teams have good depth, we are now "getting" to that position. Fearing that everyone who doesn't play AFL each week will leave is just paranoia.
Anyway, this is the positivity thread, so I'll leave it as that - some of us are glass half full, some half empty. All good.
Mundys win / loss ratio as captain, is on a steep upward trend.
