Pearce - 22 y/o with less then 25 games under his belt that hasn't played in 2 seasons.
Neale - gun.
Walters - gun.
211 - 35 y/o ruckman that has played 15 games in 2 seasons.
Blakley - gun.
Langdon - 50/50 how he turns out, borderline best 22 as it sits.
Ape - 22 y/o with less then 10 games under his belt and has had about 5 knee ops.
Collins - a 30-35 list depth filler.
Zarke - 27 y/o fringe 2nd ruckman that hasn't played in a year and hasn't been fit in 4 years.

So from your list we literally have 3 guys that we know can step in and have a consistent week to week effect in the result of our games. Hardly awe inspiring.

Positivity thread mate. We do not need to be 100% rational :)

I count 4 young guns added to aan emerging crop plus whoever we bring in. I'm optimistic.

Agree with others, watched Wilson in person for a while and holy shit, this is a huge huge get for the club. His vision is X factor.

There are elite kicks in the comp but Wilson stands alone is his ability to pick the most damaging option in a split second.

Our back line is getting to froth level.

It's not surprising that we're building from the back line forward. The last piece once the backline and midfield are complete is to get some good finishers.

Assuming we get Wilson and Matera - I'd do Balic+5 for Hogan. If we don't get Hogan this year, trade Balic anyway for a 3rd round, and Crozier for a 2nd/ early 3rd round, then hit the draft.

Best available mid with 5, then the best small forward, then a tall.

Next year try swing Hogan then. Go best available tall with our first pick, get Get Carter with points.

Gives us an elite developing mid, small forward, one elite tall, one developing tall with a year sunk in, and a winger across 2 years. With possibly Hogan this year or next.

What about Tippett?

and Conca???

Destination club.

******* Wilson. I am so stoked. I know everyone (including me) has been talking about him for ages but it is actually happening.

A bit over a year ago it was Spurr and Sutcliffe distributing the ball out of the back-line. Now Wilson and Ryan.
Yep. Massive plus.
Personally looking forward to a starting half back line in 2018 of:
Ryan, Johno and Wilson. Alex Pearce will probably take a while to return. Having no bad kicks off half back certainly beats having at least two like we did for most of last year.

I am positive the d’s won’t let hulk go for Balic and 5. Love to see it though!

There was a report suggesting they were interested in Balic. He plays a role that they need more of, and if Hogan suggests that he wants to go home - 5 and Balic would be a fair trade.

Hogan is worth two first picks alone and in our wildest dreams we would get a second for Balic, it would be a steal of we got Hogan for 5 + Balic.

Hogan & 2nd Rounder (27?) for Pick 5 + Balic & 2018 1st Rounder (pick 18 ;))
