Hahahaha played 100 computer games maybe.
I played Aussie rules but I wasn't very good as I came from a heavy rugby league background. Plus bigfooty wouldn't want me as I'm only the same height as Ballaz.

Yep, i was disappointed when we skipped over Lever and selected Weller.
While Lever has come on quicker it doesn't mean much if he asks for a trade 3 seasons in. Weller has improved every season so far and I see no reason for that to stop now.

Hell yeah love Weller and can see him becoming a very good player. He has all the tools and skills to break lines on the footy field and hearts off of it.
The 3 amigos have a bright future at freo along with all of our other young talent.

Let me try and add some doubts. Maybe just maybe Lever would have liked Perth more than Adelaide. And enjoyed playing for Freo more then playing for Adelaide...

Same here Lost_Deputy, a bit hard to tame my horses as I look at the list (on paper) and see all the tools for reaching the finals - and making myself remember that a lot of those are 1st and 2nd year players that will need some time to reach their potential.
With a huge turnover of the list in that short time since Pav, new facilities - a new stadium...
The years of the Fyfe captaincy is quite a new era and exciting. A year for the new boys to settle, we incidentally then get access to our first academy pick... Then a push into the 8 in 2019 and some serious challenging for a few years beyond that, I'm excited!
The Brayshaw era will have a talented core group with him, those recruited post Pav will be in their mid to late 20's with him (Bolstered by the likes of Blakely and others). That era will have strong foundations and while suffering with poor draft picks from recent success, it has the prospect of talent coming via the academy and lost Western Australian souls languishing in the hell holes of the east coast (Western Sydney, Queensland) wanting to return across the Nullabor.

Didn’t we have a million to throw at KPFs at some point? Or was that just the Eagles media saying we did to fuel the “can’t even bring in a kpf at a mil a year” fire
Tbh though we were comparing him to Lever who basically got offered exactly the same thing except probably more money. I’m sure Adelaide fans would claim he left for money like Freo fans do with Weller - the homesick card seems to have worked on every other clubs supporters in regards to these two players.
The lesson seems to be have the money available.

More be willing to overpay when you do. Weller is not worth that money on exposed form. He might become it, but could just as easily end up as nothing more than an above average wing / running half back.
700k is alot for someone with little runs on the board. (I'm guessing the 800 figure is one that includes match payments which aren't guaranteed)

Yep, I'd rather Freo have Brayshaw than Weller for 700k+/yr. Brayshaw looks like a leader.
I felt Weller was overrated ... but I am biased towards the contested possession mids and I will admit Weller was improving with each game.

Fitness and form as always will play a big part in 2018, but I'm really excited by the quality of Freo's midfield stocks.
How good will Freo's midfield look if the likes of Sandilands, Bennell, Walters, Blakely, Neale, Fyfe (& Mundy and Hill bros) play most of the season fit? Add to that a couple of the new midfield recruits. Bring on 2018.

Although it's of no real interest to us since we pilfered pick 2 for him but it's more of a positive than a negative that Lachie's close to his performance ceiling and reaching his financial apex elsewhere.
I hold no hard feelings against him at all. He was good while he was here and I enjoyed watching him play.
I would have been disappointed if he had knocked back Gold Coast's offer because then we would have had a fool on our list. Big money, good player and we got a fair deal. What's to get upset about ?
Truth be known, we are most likely in front with that deal.
