After watching the replay, I’ve been able to watch the game in a calm manner.

There seems to be a massive increase in the one per enters for their team mates. Shepparding for the kicker, and forcing the opposition to the boundary line and thus forcing an errant kick ( see Treacy in 1st quarter & Mundy in the dying minutes of the game ).

Walters was actually not too bad, he was inches off pulling off some good moves. It’s the old “ sliding doors “ moment, win a free in front of goals for a good tackle, bang through goes a goal, your mojo is on the up. The free is not paid, Sonny gets frustrated and mojo stays low. It is a game of inches.

Cerra was class, very Mundy like, deceptively laconic, but his disposals thread the eye of a needle. His disposals open up play.

Our bottom 6 players of the 22 (23), are producing. This has been our Achilles heel for a long time. When our “ so called “ number 1 player learns to stop slicing shots at goal, we will be complete ......... well here’s hoping.

I think that three of the "bottom" six, would include Aish, Colyer and Acres. In my opinion they have now ecededed my expectations of them.
All are contributing every week and giving the side more options.
Like Acres this week, played as second ruck.He has also in my opinion become a more physical presence in contests.
The other two have pace top burn and have the ability to open up sides with their pace.
I think that every player on the list has now bought into the Longmuir gameplan.

Earlier in the year it was reported that the Dees had something like a dozen players having career best years and I thought we maybe had two or three: Darcy, Mundy and Brayshaw. You could probably add those three now. If we want to compete we need every player contributing to the best of their ability.

Can I add that anyone who ever knocks Lachie Schultz can fight me . Bloody Trojan !

James Aish just keeps getting better with every game. Finally starting to live up to his pedigree.
Very much a favorite of mine. Quiet, unassuming & rarely makes a bad decision or disposal.

Never understood the hate tbh. Always seems to be there in support, generally makes good decisions. Seems the prototypical winger.

I deadset did not believe Schultz was an AFL player 2 years ago. Thank god I am not a recruiter. Dude not only belongs at this level but is one of the best in his position at this level.
And yet he is still on a rookie contract isn't he and was one of the last to be re-signed?

Nathan Wilson isn’t getting the praise he deserves. Nathan is a 80 metre player with his run and bounce and most times finding a team mate inside 50 .
Willo’s corridor runs and kicks in his last couple of games have been outstanding.

It has probably been fitness issues until now but he is now looking like the player he was at GWS.

I read a stat a few weeks back that he’s our leading score involvements player across the last three seasons

I am surprised by that stat for no reason other than that is a stat usually by an onballer.
I reckon coaches have given him licence to be the line breaker we wanted.
Nathan has been really impressive this year.
Maybe I’m being a bit effusive but his dare seems to coincide with Moose’s return. damn good game against Collingwood; they simply had no answer to him.

Some stats insight from the Purple Reign boys:

Most of us read earlier in the week that we've only had 5 of our players play every single game, which is lowest in the comp. Who were they?

- The ever youthful D. Mundy
- Our young star, C. Serong.
- The three other blokes I would consider solid players and in our best 15-25, but by no means A-graders: T. Coyler, B. Acres, and J. Aish.

Think about that for a second...

Our best of the best, our top players, our true A-graders have all missed games.

Another fun fact:

The last game was the FIRST time Logue and Pierce played in a game together.

Another fun fact:

We fielded the second youngest team last weekend.

We are just outside the top 8. Kick straight and have even a mildly better run with injuries and Freo is going to be up and about!

JLo and his team of coaches are doing an amazing job under the circumstances.

Completely agree, although that loopy handball in the centre square during the first quarter last week shows he hasn't hit his ceiling yet. He was in a dangerous, attacking position which was exciting but fell down on the execution. If he tightens that he will be another Mundy for us - every touch creating space and forward momentum.

Mundy sold him into trouble there. Aish gets a bit Darcy Tuckered in that regard too, they feed the ball to him when the lift doors are already closing on him.

The shocking thing about it was that Mundy — of all people! — was so slow to read the play and dish the handball off. 2 seconds quicker and that would've had Aish in the clear.

Yeah I reckon we've been coached to play on through the corridor whwn we can and Mundy was trying to stick to the plan, but just chose the wrong option. We should have tried to kept the ball in and force a ball-up instead of conceding possession.

Ha Travis Colyer is just loving life this year.

He's had a complete turnaround. He's gone from being nearly universally criticised by the fans, delist material to now being loved by fans, playing every game and playing the best football he's played in his whole career. He's in career best form for mine.
