Its true the Dees are going through a bleak period in their mighty history and it is obvious that over time Bailey will move the team forward and upwards which means that we should be looking for positive signs that our team is moving in the right direction.

Admittedly these signs may be few and far between for a while but I think there have been a couple already.

Cale Morton has shown that he has the talent to become a great player and as he gets more games under his belt I think this kid will become something special.

Cameron Bruce doesn't appear to be 100% fit but he played a great game on Johnson last weekend.

Daniel Bell's ability to read the play and put the footy lace out on a leading forwards chest has impressed me. I think he should move permanently into the mid field.

Although Robbo has been distracted early in the year with his singing gig he has still managed to kick 5 goals in 2 games in which the Dees were thrashed and he clearly showed that his passion for the game and the team has not waned when he threw his boot against the wall and screamed out some expletive after the game against the Dogs this week. I think he will get better and better as this year progresses.

Valenti is a ball magnet and when he finally gets his opportunity I am sure he will impress.

Bailey is obviously not advserse to letting the kids have a run in the seniors and this is going to prove to be invaluable experience and will hopefully get our team back on track sooner rather than later.

Are you joking? Why did Bailey make Yze and Miller part of the leadership group? If your say playing kids why are we leaving young kids out such as Warnock & Newton so on?

Secondly you must of missed Cale Mortons effort on the win round 1 vs Hawthorn when he went to go for a ball while he was on the ground, but then saw a Hawthorn player coming and backed out of their quick smart. It was a joke. Is it just me or when you put on a red and blue jumper you become fairly software? Someone please tell me why we didn't get Palmer or Masten before Morton??!!

Dont be too harsh on poor Cale Morton, he showed some poise against the Doggies, he is a young kid playing his first game, he will learn.

Must admit though, Palmer looks like some player indeed though!

Have a look at the title of the thread mate - lets look for positives - go make a new thread called "The Negativity Thread" if you want

Cale Morton has played 2 senior games for the club - did you honestly expect him to come in in game one and play like a guy who has played 200 games - give the kid a break

I didn't say Bailey played kids all the time, I said he isn't afraid to play them and he has.

Did you go to the game on Sunday DemonBoob. Cale Morton was the only shining light for the whole game.

He showed excellent skills under pressure and looked unflappable in tight situations, and has superior decision making skills. Check out his efficiency stats, not suprised it was up near 90%

That was his first game and he's built like a stick - you can forgive a bloke who comes out improves out of sight like he did on the weekend for his efforts in his 1st hitout.

Same cant be said for Simon Buckley he shirked it at a critical stage in the match and needs to step aside for us to gain any confidence.

Very Very Happy we got Morton in front of palmer, masten went at 3.

I think Buckley will be good as well. I think he hasn't got used to the pace of the game in the seniors yet - he seemed to be playing like he thought he had alot more time than he actually did and once he adapts to the pace he will become one of those players that runs and carries the ball and carves teams up. On that basis I think we should persist with Buckley :thumbsu:

If you knew anything about football, you would understand that a midfielder, who is 192 cm, 80 kg and just turned 18 in January would struggle a little against much bigger-bodied opponents. And Cale has just about been Melbournes strongest performer this year, also you ask about Palmer and Masten, well Palmer was just about 18 when Cale was 16 turning 17, so why arnt you asking why 16 clubs overlooked him in the 2006 draft and Morton's potential was far too big to pass on. As for Masten you should know that he was picked ahead of Cale

Another positive is that Brock McLean has had only 5 less possessions in his first 2 games (48 possessions) than last years Brownlow medalist James Bartel (53 possessions) and Brock played in a team that got absolutely spanked whereas Bartel played in a team that kicked butt :thumbsu:

Another positive is that Jimmy McDonald has not played a good game yet but he is improving and is hopefully going to play a blinder this weekend - game 1 he had 15 possessions and in game 2 he had 20 - he's heading in the right direction. The same can be said for Cameron Bruce. When Bruce and McDonald hit there straps the teams overall performance will naturally lift.

Also Rivers and Whelan are still to come back into the side so things are surely going to get better before the year is out

I may be just one fan, I may be just a 19 year old dreaming of a flag but goddamnit this football club needs to be turned around. And there is only one way to go about it. List clean out, board upheaval, that's all rubbish. Our ONLY saviour is of course...

The Final Countdown

Yes gentlemen, we need to ditch the Grand Old Flag and replace it with this song that is so incredibly awe inspiring.

An explosive, flaming banner and booty chicks would also help

DemonDoob you are a Dick head do you not see Morton put his body on the line in the last quarter against the hawks when the game was well and truley over??

And i was very impressed with Morton when we played the dogs on the weekend, the senior players(yes you Brad Green) were selling him into all sorts of trouble with terrible handballs and he somehow managed to get out of it and then use the ball incredibley well, He was very poised and looks like he will be a star.....

Yep its a proven fact that booty chicks are one of the greatest motivators known to man :thumbsu:

Are you fairdinkim, It was his first game! Did you see when he ran back with the flight of the ball and took a gutsy mark???? This is a fu*king ridiculous post!!!
ohhh and the reason we didnt get Masten is beacuse he went pick 3 and we had pick 4. Is that ok with you?

hey what's the deal with Whelan?
from what i understand he's def in your best 22 but still playing vfl, and not getting in the best players named...
i have him in SC...do demons fans expect him to come in and start contributing in seniors soon?
what's the feeling d's?????
