there is not many talls in the comp who can play in the ruck and also play up fwd.while Otto,s form over the past few years hasnt been great niether has the side as a whole.this will work in our favor.if i was another club id be more worried if he wasnt performing in a side who was performing well.
he wants to stay in melb which is another bonus.
i can see most melb sides chasing him except for the saints, melb+possibly ess.

cheers!

Must clubs might chase him but when a player comes out and states his preferred club then he won't change. Ottens has made his decision and is now off overseas. Sure the Tigers could force him into the draft but what's the point. If you wanted to keep him then you would have just agreed to pay him the same as this year. If you re select him he gets what he wanted all along (according to Tigers fans money) + you lose a 1 draft pick.

Lets face it, 95% of the time when a player states he wants to go to club Y he ends up getting there.

Ps I'm not saying you will get screwed with Ottens just don't waste too much of your time negotiating with other club supporters

Good thing is that Richmond should be the winners here, apart from the fact that Ottens' worth is overvalued we could 'proft' handsomely indeed.

We save money, and will probably end up with 2 players when all is said and done for the price we wanted Ottens.

Im liking this very much. Just get the deal.

me thinks a deal with the cats will be stiched up pretty early in the week. just my opinion tho. he wants to go there, the tigers are willing to trade him and the cats are willing to come to the party with a handsome deal by the sound of it. i dont really see anything standing in the way of it. the cats will most likely try VERY hard to satisfy richmond after years of attempting to lure a big man forward to cat park with no success. now they have one who wants to play for them. all they have to do is come up with a satisfactory deal.

Good point. Add to that Ottens' second choice would be Syd who tried to screw Rich over royally last year with Hall. It would hurt them to let him go there

I don't think Ottens will demand that he goes to Geelong and if they can't be worked out, refuse to go anywhere else. He would have to accept going elsewhere through the PSD, so he may as well say his preference is Geelong, but there are other clubs he will accept going to, to ensure a trade is made and he gets what he wants (to some degree).
