One of the biggest rock acts of the 90s are back in office, with a brand new single Some Postman and they’re bringing their bouyant, absurdist brand of rock back to Australian shores in May.

Presidents of the United States of America spent much of the late 1990s at the top of the charts with hits such as Lump, Peaches and Kitty helping their self-titled debut album sell a massive five times platinum in Australia, with their second outing also selling well off the back of the hit Mach 5. Breaking up just after the release of their second album, the Presidents spent many years on other projects before reforming last year for their new album Love Everybody, which is receiving rave reviews in the states. With the first single Some Postman hitting radio this week in Australia and the album available in August, the Presidents are playing three special shows to reconnect with their fans downunder, presented by AccessAllAreas.net.au, Blast Records and John Shelley Entertainment. Tickets go on sale Wednesday through Ticketek. Read more for details

That is so cool.

I have their album Freaked Out and Small which was their 3rd. They have got like, no press at all. I'm sure they'll be fun live.

"Obtained" the new CD today. Hasnt grabbed me immediatley like their last 3 efforts, but still, a new Presidents cd is better than none at all.

Strange choice of first single too, plenty of better on offer than "Some Postman"

I remember 1995 for two albums. The Presidents of the United States of America and What's The Story (Morning Glory) from Oasis.

Classics such as Peaches, Dune Buggy and Kitty. Can't wait for new stuff and yes we want the coverage.

Ah and the Beatles reunion tracks were special that year thanks to Georges guitar.

One of the biggest rock acts of the 90s are back in office, with a brand new single "Some Postman" and they're bringing their buoyant, absurdist rock back to Australian shores this October.

Australia was per capita the President's most successful territory and 'Some Postman' is the track that old fans will love and new fans will lap up. The Presidents spent much of the late 1990s at the top of the charts with hits such as "Lump", "Peaches", "Dune Buggy" and "Kitty" helping their self-titled debut album sell a massive five times platinum in Australia, and over four million copies worldwide.

Breaking up just after the release of their second album, the Presidents spent several years on other projects before reforming last year for their new album "Love Everybody", which is receiving rave reviews os. With the first single "Some Postman" hitting radio here and the album available in October, the Presidents are playing three special shows to reconnect with their fans down under, proudly presented by Triple M and Blast Records.

Kewl band.

The venues are pretty small though,I'd have expected maybe 2 shows in Sydney at least (considering the size of the rooms, but i suppose it was a while ago now.....)
Metro is a wierd room.

there are gaps between the dates... if shows sell out in good time, i would think they'd play a 2nd show

You forgot Offspring's Smash...that is probably the best album of the 90's. :thumbsu:

Anyways, I've been looking forward to the new album..I'm probably going to buy it soon. Some Postman is an alright song, but I'm sure I'll find a song on the album that should be the first single when I buy it :D
