I hope I don't sound like I'm a party pooper. Love the Maggies and the prison bars. I am concerned though. My girlfriend, her da and brother have been talking about going to the last game of the season. Not their Crows home game but Carlton v Port. They aren't even going to barrack for Carlton. They think it makes sense that they go to the last match considering the stakes could be sky high.
I think that game will be a sell out. The other mob has softened their stance against our club. I think some of their supporters are swing supporters and wouldn't give up barracking for their team but wouldn't mind having a second team. Supporting two teams means that at least one may be in the finals.
I am just afraid that this is not the time for the prison bars. The first game of Adelaide oval maybe but this time we might be missing out on a great opportunity. Anybody feel the same?

I'm not following... you're saying we shouldn't wear the prison bars in round 23 because we want to be the second team of Crows supporters?I hope I don't sound like I'm a party pooper. I run a small business. I learn more about how people react in tough times. Right now is a tough time. I am getting better at reading the the needs and wants of people. Business has no ego or memory. I t is either right or wrong for the current climate. Surely people can see my point. This particular game is special and more so than most can get the whole SA public out in force. Nah, sorry. I really don't. If there are any neutral supporters that want to back us then they'll accept what we are, our traditions, our history. If they can't handle that, then, well, **** em. We don't need them, I don't understand why you think we do.I run a small business. I learn more about how people react in tough times. Right now is a tough time. I found my name on the front by scanning down the black and white stripes stripe by stripe, and i found it and several other names twice
I saw the names of a few bigfooty port boarders that I recognised during the hunt as well.

No.
We are Port Adelaide.
And we wore the prisonbars while winning no less than 11 premierships at the ground.
You start ceding things like your iconic standards and where does it end? Do we ban guys like Scott Hodges, Tim Ginever and George Fiacchi from the club because they inflicted so much pain on the rest of the state? Do we only mention 2004 instead of the 34 other senior flags that ultimately propelled us into the national competition?
People like Graham Cornes who say we should distance ourselves from or even deny our glorious history and heritage 'to appeal to more people' only do so because they want us to be even more of a soulless franchise than the one they jumped off their own traditional clubs to follow. Why cover for their guilt?
The more this sinks in the more this is rustling my jimmies to be honest. Adelaide Mentality in the extreme. Someone too good? Too successful? Don't improve. Don't innovate. Drag them down at all costs!
We were too good in that guernsey, therefore we should apologise and never wear it again lest we offend a few people who might deign to come to our games as neutrals? Piss off. It's for this reason if I ever run into Mark Haysman I'll buy him a beer, or a flute of Moët, or whatever it is he prefers to imbibe.
He was the first Port Adelaide employee since Bruce Weber to act solely in Port Adelaide's interest by breaking ranks and telling all who'd listen about what a shit business model we were chained to. No apologies. No beg your pardons. Just a huge f*** this, we're being screwed, get f**ked. And the SANFL have been choking on their own bile ever since. Legend.
I and many others here had long grown tired of our club appeasing our malevolent masters on the one hand and paying clueless marketing consultants with the other, all it served to do was run us into the ground and dilute everything that made us the flagship of the national game.
Beginning with Haysman and continuing on with Koch, that shameful period is over.
Port Adelaide loud, Port Adelaide proud, Port Adelaide first. And if the prisonbars are really that offensive to someone then so should be the entire concept of Port Adelaide, and in that case, who cares about such infidels?
They can jog on with the usual embittered masses who pollute this state.
