I wonder if he'll play the tagger role? pressure HF?

He's played a fair bit off the HB line hasn't he at Peel, reckon he'll be used in a similar role ... maybe?

Carlton’s list management has been atrocious. I have no idea how Silvagni still has a job there. A stack of under 20s, a bunch of over 30s and not much in between. The media will say they’re a young team on the improve but actually when the over 30s retire like Simpson, Murphy, Kreuzer, they’ll be back at square one with a team of rudderless kids and Cripps.

This industry bangs on and on about youf, but the reality is the most important age range is the 22-26’s - those just on the young side of their prime. That’s why I’m pretty happy with our list management over the past few years, our rebuild has focused on getting guys in that range like Hill, Matera, Hogan, McCarthy etc.

Would think they'd throw Casboult forward and rucking with Jones being included.

Arguably they have better tall forward options with McGovern, Curnow and Casboult - types which would stretch our current defensive tall options on a fine day (and the forecast is 50/50 about the amount of rain we'll get in the afternoon, with rain forecast for being heavier towards evening).

The combination of Jones, Weitering and Marchbank should be able to cover Cox and McCarthy (assuming they both play) too.

Midfield and outside run, small forwards and rebound defence is where we have to get on top. Ruck could go either way - perhaps Carlton have the advantage with their back-up. Won't be surprised if Silvagni is tried as a big bodied midfield tagger.

Never know with these games where you think you're favourites. You don't get off to a good start and lose a good player to injury during the game and can struggle to get back.

Will be happy just to get over the line and grab the 4 points.
