What are the questions you are hoping the preseason cup will answer? This will be when the comps come online and for me I will be looking at the following:

- What is the balance of pricing going to be like? Will it be like last year or will it be easier or tougher to get the same strength side as last year. I am hoping it might be more difficult.

- Who will be discounted? Monty is giving us a bit of an idea but will they be right. Will the guys who were injured early get discounts eg Goddard, Stevens? Will those guys who returned late for a couple of games get a discount eg Corrie, Brown? What about the young guys who only played a couple of games eg Barlow?

- Which mids will also be listed as forwards or backs eg will Adcock be listed as a back this year, Deledio and Ablett as a forward?

- Who are going to step up? Which of the 200-250 guys will jump to the 300+ bracket? Whose lights will suddenly go on and realise what they need to do to play well at AFL level?

- Will the old guys come back eg Hall and Tredrea? We may not even get to see these guys though.

- Who will demand that I pick them and so have to change the whole structure of my team eg if Jetta or Thorpe looks like they are going to carve it up it might free up some money to be spent elsewhere?

- Will I buy into the hype? I didn't originally have McLean but I am finding myself being talked into taking him because of the hype he is getting on here at the moment. Similarly with Butler I thought there were too many questions but if he performs in the preseason you virtually have to take him at the price he will be at.

- Do I leave an upgrade hole in each line? I have been toying with a set and forget midfield but this might be detrimental to my end position if I can't take advantage of a bargain upgrade that will inevitably occur eg as happened with Goodwin and Brown last year.

- Can I resist the temptation to overvalue players from my own team? At the moment I am looking at 5 Brisbane players (possibly more). Are they all worthy of spots?

- Can I pick the preseason tease eg Brennan last year?

- Which new players are going to break into teams, hold their spots and get field time?

- How much do I spend on my bench? I want good cash cows but I don't want to take too much money away from the first 22.

 Not gonna get any answers to those questions by watching the NAB cup.

it sounds like alot of players won't be playing in it, that will make selecting teams a little harder which is a positive.

i'm the opposite to this, if there are two players round about equal and one from richmond i will almost always pick the other one. Say if i had to choose between Coughlan and Butler i would choose Butler.
