Long shot but is anyone knowledgeable on gas hot water systems?

6 months ago no matter where I set the thermostat the water never stayed hot for long so I left it on max. All of a sudden the water is really hot and the system is boiling over with water going everywhere.

Is it just a dodgy thermostat? If so how much is it going to set me back?

Edit - Nevermind I've realised it blew up

What are some of the better suburbs in Brisbane to live in? And the ones to avoid?

Could be moving there for work soon.
Avoid: Ipswich, Forest Lake, Inala, Goodna, Morayfield

Good: Bulimba, Kedron, Greenslopes, Norman Park, Indooroopilly, Morningside

Let us know if you need any more info!

Ballpark how much money do you need before you can think about moving out of home?
24 now and saved up a bit. Thinking of giving it a go soon. Dad has said I'm out by 26 anyway.

Would you move out on your own, or move in with others? If the former, do you have all the house appliances you would need, e.g. fridge, microwave, toaster?

I moved into a sharehouse when I was 19 and didn't have much money, survived on Centrelink until I found a job, and was able to save up a fair amount during uni. A couple of months ago I moved into a house by myself, but I had nothing so I spent all my savings on the aforementioned appliances, as well as a bed set, kitchen utensils, vacuum cleaner, all that jazz. Quite costly but worth it in the long run.

Also need to consider the bond you'll have to pay before you move in, as well as rent in advance. Then there's bills and internet to consider.

Prefer to live by myself. Mum has a few houses and could possibly rent one from her but it wouldn't be free although she probably wouldn't charge me market cost.

Have around 60-65k. No debt.

Moved out at 19. I scrape pretty close each week.

Make around $550-$650 a week.
$160 rent ($10 each week towards quarterly bills).
$70-$100 on food, drinks and living expenses.
$100 loan
$100 fuel
Whatever toll fine I have ($30-$60)

I end up in the minus's every week.

How can you have that much saved but have the financial acumen of a rock?

I've never had 65k cash at a single time at any point in my life but I own two houses, you'll be right.
