I think I'd struggle to have $10k of s**t. My computer is by far my most expensive item, and it was only $2,500.
I mean if you're single and renting sure, I can see it.

If you own or have a mortgage pretty much everything not structural is counted as contents, so carpet, curtains etc.

Have a family and it starts adding up pretty quick.

The biggest rort is if they decide you underinsured when you make a claim they reduce how much they pay you by the percentage.

So say you insure your contents for 5$0k and the place burns down.

They'll work out the replacement cost, say it's $80k

They don't say too had you're only getting $50k they reduce the $50o by the percentage you under insured and give you $31k

Of course if you insured for $90k they'll try and only give you the $80k at best

Didn't think about carpet and shit like that. Which just reminded me, I need to get contents insurance ASAP lol

What did you call your grandparents?

For me, it's always been nan and pop.

On mum's side it was grandma and grandpa. On dad's side it was gran and grumps. The old boy's old boy apparently didn't want to go by anything that made him sound old and somehow landed on grumps.
