Stopped at a level crossing today, boom gates went up but red lights kept flashing. I stayed there until they stopped, then took off, meanwhile the bloke behind me sat on his horn at me for not going sooner.

Can you drive through the crossing even if the lights are still flashing?

Was at BWS today with a mate looking at drinks prices for schoolies (I'm only 17 - just looking at prices btw), and got chatting to the bloke working. Luckily enough he was a relaxed bloke and didn't really seem to care that we were just looking and after chatting to him for a bit, he mentioned that we'd better soak up being 18 as long as we can cause there are new laws being introduced either at the end of next year or if not definitely the year after. He was saying how a couple of days ago there was a big meeting with all BWS employees about how the legal drinking age is going to be raised to 21 and the "under 25" policy is going to be raised to under 30.

I live in SA, and I'm not sure whether or not this is just SA Parliament or rumours or what but has anyone heard anything about this?

Cheers,

Imagine they did increase the drinking age 3 years. Overnight, going from being able to legally drink to having to wait another couple of years.

I would assume if they did that, it wouldn't apply to those already between 18-21. You can't just allow people to buy alcohol one day and then stop them the next.
Sure the government can. Prohibition did just that. They do it regularly with drugs (Ecstasy in the 80s/90s, Mushrooms in England in the 2000s, synthetic pot now). Overnight they bring in a rule saying nobody who has a S in their name can drink and that's the law from then on.

Of course, that wont happen, they would stagger the increase in drinking age so each year, it would go up by 1 year.

Ok so I am a member of this singles meet up group, there is a Christmas party thingy in the city next month I've RSVPd yes to. Usually I dont even go through the RSVPs to see who is going (because AFAIK they are all strangers anyway so who cares)- anyway, a pic caught my eye. Is dead set a friend I kind of "cut loose" cause we had nothing in common was a bit awks. So yeah she is going.

What are the ****ing odds.

So do i go to the party still?
Do i snob her off?
Do i pretend to act like long lost friends?

Idk.
