My sister in law is best friends with her brother's ex. Weird.

Yeah exactly, I thought so.

I had her mobile number, so I could have gotten in contact with her if I wanted to, but didn't in the end. I have a fair idea it didnt end well probably either, my brother had a job flying in WA and she would have had enough of that long distance crap.

How is how hot a day is determined?

Is the sun closer to earth on those hot days? Are the UV rays stronger?

Temperature is related to a few things, but typically is dominated by atmospheric pressure as in highs and lows. High pressure systems bring about light winds and clear skies because the air movement is coming from above and is moving towards the ground. Conversely, air movement is opposite in a low pressure system which typically brings about cloud, strong winds and precipitation as the air rises and condenses. The light winds of a high pressure system coupled with clear skies means that you will get baking conditions. If you live near the sea, you will be lucky to get sea breezes as the land heats up and creates local low pressure systems and the sea cools down creating local high pressure systems.

The suns angle is the other important consideration in temperature regulation. As we move into the latter months and the Earth's axis rotates, the sun's angle begins to move closer to being directly above us. Of course it doesn't because we don't live on the equator, however, the fact that the angle increases means that the suns penetration and its rays are stronger thus, causing an increase in temperatures (e.g. as in summer). Add the high pressure to that and whatever atmospheric humidity that you have and you get a hot day.

One other consideration is that there are also air masses that can either be hot or cold. These things are different to low and high pressure systems but are still linked to them. These pools of air can form over large continents and just sit there for days, weeks and even months. A high or low pressure system can drag them to the east (due to the spin of the Earth) and place them over any area. You see this a lot in the outback regions of Australia.

Wonder why they changed it...
Different forum software. I have requested it a few times, always get the "we'll look into it" response, but its not that important to them I don't think.

How did you end the friendship Shell ?
Did you just drift apart over time or was there a confrontation?

I'm trying to extricate myself from a friendship at the moment. Long story, but this girl seemed really nice and fun when I met her 12 months ago, but has turned out to be super clingy. She was dating a good friend of my brother's, but they broke up about 4 months ago and she's gotten worse since then. She likes and comments on literally everything I post on FB (not a big deal in isolation but the irritants all add up), constantly posts shit on my wall to the point where I've changed my settings to restrict this, will text 3 or 4 times in a row if she doesn't get a response quickly enough, etc.

She and her ex were both invited to my wedding, and her ex was running late. About 10 minutes before I was due to walk down the aisle she tried to pull me aside for a pep talk because she found out that he was about to arrive, and got miffed when I was like "uhhh no, I have to go get ready now..." During the reception she made some very inappropriate comments to my sister in law about her 4 month old baby and generally pissed everyone off.

She hasn't really done anything to me as such, she just annoys the **** outta me. What do I do?
Not easy, but just distance yourself slowly.

Short replies and whatnot, if you see her act uninterested in what she is saying etc.

Anyone with police knowledge ?

When a Police car with a radar drives into an area that changes speed limits does it automatically switch from one limit to the other via GPS or does it need to be manually changed

It really is. It's super awkward because she's started a group chat with all of her ex's friends (including my brother, his wife and myself) trying to organise an Xmas catchup and everyone is making up excuses.

Set her up on a date with me. She will hate both of us after that.

Copper wouldn't be able to keep looking at it, there would have to be a noise or something surely
I would have thought they would just target cars directly in front of them to get their speed. They would know what the limit is and then it's your word against theirs.

Is it just me or does coke zero pretty much taste just as shit regardless of its temperature?

Thanks. Is currently Calibri but wasn't sure how acceptable that was or whether there was something else I'd never considered.
I'd use Helvetica or Arial rather than Calibri, and I suggest Garamond or Georgia if you're after a serif typeface.

My contract with Telstra ends at the start of next month so I need to find a new mobile plan. I had a look at my options if I stay with Telstra and they're so bad, can't wait to get out of this contract.

I'm looking at a Vodafone 24-month contract and they offer 6GB of data and unlimited calls and texts for $45 a month, and I get unlimited data for the first two months. They also offer international roaming for $5 extra per day with no charge if you don't use if for a day. I'm going overseas for two weeks over Christmas so I definitely want international roaming.

Has anyone had any problems with Vodafone? I don't really care if there's some places where I can't get 4G because I'm not on my phone all the time. Can anyone suggest a better plan?
